All aspects of trip from booking, to asking questions, to checking in and checking out went very smoothly. We’ll be back before long.
Fantastic customer experience. The staff are polite and patient. They take time to explain the boat and answer questions.
They even sat down to review our sailing itinerary and made suggestions based on local weather and sailing experience to ensure we started our week off right!
Boat was in excellent condition. Staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.
We had an overall good experience with our charter. The staff were friendly and helpful, the boat was in mostly great shape and the vacation was wonderful!
Sunsail has always provided an excellent charter experience for us. We appreciate the product this company provides, and the effort to create a reliable, high-quality sailing vacation.
From start to finish, the Sunsail owner and staff were welcoming, extremely competent, informative and professional. We can’t wait to go back. The boat was in excellent condition and the check-out and sailing guides made our family vacation the best it could be
The whole process is smooth from the start to the finish. All staff are very friendly and helpful. Loved the Catamaran and all the facilities on board.
I have chartered with Sunsail many times, in many destinations. The boats are very clean and in good shape and the base crews are friendly and helpful.

Great boats, great staff, great cruising locations, Marina Agana has it all!
Great sailing area, well organised and an excellent team with Tadek, El and Carraig.
Ich bin seit Jahren ein Kunde und bis jetzt immer zufrieden.
Great sailing area , lovely friendly people , good food to be had , views
We loved the catamaran experience and customer service was good.
The holiday booking process was straightforward, amendments were dealt with promptly and efficiently. Lots of valuable information shared ahead of the trip and an excellent team out in Croatia meant we were always fully supported.
Everything was easy going and relaxed. Sunsail team in Agana base doesn’t put any pressure and they are relaxed and calm
Service during hurricane warning was above and beyond expectations. Everyone was very caring, kind and thoughtful. Even though I’m sure most or all had family to be concerned about, we felt like we were the only people that mattered to them.
You delivered on every promise: the skipper provided (Luca) was experienced, friendly, helpful, patient, professional and a nice guy to have around.
Beautiful location, lots to see. Staff happy and helpful
The staff were amazing and so helpful throughout. This was my first charter and they took much of the stress out of it. Thank you Sunsail team!
Mehrjährige positive Erfahrung.
Great boats. Great service. Affordable prices
Very well organized, excellent communication – exactly what we planned for! No surprises!
Boats v well equipped
Staff support excellent
Très bonne organisation, accueil chaleureux, bateau impeccable. Aire de navigation exceptionnelle.
I loved the opportunity to sail around the Islands off Dubrovnik with an extremely supportive Lead skipper
Confidence of sailing with one of the largest and most experienced operators
You know where you stand with Sunsail. A good fleet of boats with back up, ABTA, ATOL etc.
We were well looked after, the yacht was in good condition and everyone was very friendly and professional.
I have just come back from my second training week at the Sunsail base. I first attended in 2019 to complete my Competent Crew qualification, and when deciding to do my Day Skipper licence, it was an absolute given that I would go back again, as the first experience was so good. This year’s Day Skipper course was no different – it has been brilliant.
Firstly, our instructor, Tadek, was extremely experienced and excellent at demonstrating, listening if anyone was struggling to understand something, and using many different teaching techniques to make each task clear. He worked tirelessly in difficult conditions to get the course content covered — no easy task when the weather meant we lost an entire day in the marina. That time, however, was used to its full with theory, boat safety, rope handling, and anything else he could think of that we could do on the dock.
This did create a delay in practical skills, but he made sure we caught up, which was very much appreciated. He’s a really nice person, fun to be around, and made the whole experience a really good one. He also ensured the boat was well-provisioned daily so that we always had what we wanted to eat. He was very knowledgeable about the local area — not just from a sailing perspective but also when it came to restaurants. We all ate together each night with the other training boat, which made for a really nice social experience.
This course is not to be looked at as a holiday! It’s extremely full-on, with little to no downtime, so my advice would be to make sure you’re prepared for that. It’s very different from when I did my Competent Crew course, where there were only Comp Crew students on board and things were much slower-paced.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our week. It was hard work, but we knew that would be the case and fully embraced the level of effort and commitment required. Tadek was excellent at troubleshooting a few technical issues we had on board and working around the weather challenges.
We had a fabulous night passage, which is my highlight of the week — surfing down waves in the dark, following nav lights, and watching the water crash over the bow, lighting up our port and starboard lights. We even managed a cup of tea and some chocolate underway, which is always appreciated on night watches!
We anchored for three nights, moving once due to an unexpected swell. That created an additional night passage, which we all found great fun — especially as it happened after we’d all gone to bed, another fond memory.
We had fantastic sailing conditions with unexpectedly good winds and plenty of opportunities to practise motor skills. I’ve picked up a lot of new skills and gained a much better competence and understanding of things, such as power handling, anchoring, and making docking decisions – all things required to make a good day skipper.
I made new friends and have nothing but good things to say about this sailing school. Everyone we met was fun, friendly, and professional, and the flotilla looks like great fun too! The boats were very luxurious — I’m more used to stripped-out racing yachts, but this one was very comfortable, with air conditioning, heating, hot water, lovely showers, comfy duvets and beds and even electric toilets (who knew!!). Above deck, there was even an electric winch and speakers for music (if you had the time!).
Thank you for a great week!
We had an amazing charter experience with Sunsail Dubrovnik! The booking process was easy, as was boarding the yacht and departure. Support from the Sunsail team throughout the charter was excellent. Staying in touch through the skipper group chat, we were able to get weather updates, advice on where to stay and get instant answers to any questions. The team was very responsive and helpful.
The sailing was amazing and there are so many beautiful places to explore in the area! Our crew was pleased with the variety of activities: sailing, beach lounging, exploring quaint villages, historical old towns, nature preserves, beautiful scenery, variety of dining experiences.
The yacht itself was nice (we were on a 41 foot monohull), but had a few maintenance issues. Fortunately the most serious ones were discovered at the dock and repaired prior to our departure (a clogged head and a broken windlass). However, about three hours after departing the dock our main sheet block came detached from the boom. It simply needed a new shackle but there were no spares on board. This required us to turn around and head back toward the base to meet the repair crew which came out on another sail boat to meet us. In the end it was quickly repaired, but we lost a few hours which derailed our plans for that day.
But overall, we had an amazing charter experience! I would recommend Sunsail and will likely charter with them again. I also recommend sailing Croatia. It is a very different experience than the usual tropical islands destination charters. We went in September and the weather was excellent and the crowds were not bad. We never had trouble finding dockage/moorage/anchoage.
The competent crew course is so informative and hands on. I recommend it to anyone who wants to spend time on a boat. The conditions were good and our skipper, Dave, was particularly exceptional. I highly recommend this course.
Our 3rd time from Agana and the flotilla team always make this so special. I always want to have this support to ensure our holiday is perfect. Thank you Becky, Jessie and Adam.
A great week of flotilla sailing in Croatia 9n the Hvar flotilla out of Agana marina near Split. Sunsail did not disappoint (again) and the lead crew of Finn, India and Carraig were excellent. Last year we did the Kyrk trip, slightly quieter and more remote but both had excellent island and coastal sailing. This year we had a not-far-off new 42′ yacht that was super spacious and comfy with push button winches and a grill off the back. She didn’t sail quite as fast as the 41′ boat we had last year, but if we come again we’d pay the small amount extra for the 42′ boat. September is a great month for sailing in Croatia – not too hot and good winds. Hopefully we’ll be back!
We had a great experience with Sunsail in Piraeus. They were very helpful, the boat was clean and stocked with plenty of towels, sheets, etc. The sailing was fantastic! We visited many of the Saronic Islands and loved each one. I highly recommend this company and their boats. We sailed a 41.2 monohull with another couple. Just perfect!
An incredible week! The lead crew were fabulous, ever-present, supportive and doing their best to make it a holiday of a lifetime, nothing was too much trouble. Our instructor was THE most patient, knowledgable and friendly person you could wish for and really made everything about sailing seem effortless and straightforward.
Croatia is beautiful, Sunsail organisation is fantastic and a flotilla the best way to experience it. We’ll be back!
Fantastic week with lead crew Finn, Fintan and Elle from Agana marina in Croatia. Best lead team yet. Finn was a wonderfully patient and instructive skipper; nothing was too much trouble for Fintan and Elle has great organisational ability and an endless amount of energy.
The team at Sunsail; Adam, Jesse and Becky were awesome. We spent a week in Croatia. We chartered a 42 monohull – it was in perfect condition and Very comfortable. Jesse was always available for any minor mechanical or operational issues or questions that we had. Adam’s briefing each morning was informative and accurate – including multiple suggestions of where to stop for lunch. He welcomed us to each port, helping us get settled at the dock or on a mooring. Becky went out of her way to answer every question and handle all the logistics, including dinner reservations. She even jumped into action when one of our crew broke her arm – arranging a taxi to the ferry back to Split where a cast was put on the arm and our crew member arrived back on the boat the next morning without missing a minute of sailing. The team arranged lots of fun activities at each of the ports so that we could get to know others in our flotilla. I can’t say enough about how wonderful this team was. Our vacation was spectacular.
We had a brilliant week. The boats were reasonably well equipped and most missing or broken items were quickly sorted by the helpful, friendly staff. The lead boat crew were incredibly hard working and really helped to make the week. Croatia was beautiful and perfect for sailing around the islands. Some of the facilities were a little limited for the number of people using them but they were mostly clean and plenty of hot water, which was the main thing. The only reason for not giving full stars was the late night noise from other sunsail boats. I would have expected guidelines on what is acceptable during the initial briefing. I certainly would have expected the lead boat crew to intervene when one of the boats in the flotilla partied loudly until 0400, adversely affecting all of the rest of the flotilla, most of whom were not happy about it.
This was the most incredible family holiday we’ve ever had! The Dalmatian Archipelago proved to be the perfect setting to both explore and completely unwind. We were fortunate to join the two-week flotilla, which gave us a wonderful variety of experiences: lively town quay marinas, peaceful mooring buoys, quiet anchorages, and even a journey inland along the Krka river canyon to the spectacular waterfalls of Krka National Park.
Some days brought exhilarating sailing (we even hit over 9 knots at one point!), while others offered slower, gentler cruising: perfect for soaking up the sunshine and admiring the island scenery. During our free-sail days we discovered Komiža on Vis, which was certainly a highlight and exuded an authentic Mamma Mia vibe!
Although we all hold the RYA Day Skipper qualification, this was our first time sailing alone as a family. Any worries though about being novice sailors were quickly put to rest thanks to our brilliant lead crew (Adam, Becky and Jesse) whose skill and attentiveness made every mooring feel effortless. Each morning we set off after a clear briefing, and at each destination the crew were there ready to welcome us, share local tips, organise fun social activities, help with boat questions, and generally ensure we were having the best time possible. We certainly were and we’d love to do it all again!
We were a group of 5 friends with one member of the group already qualified as a Day Skipper however the other 4 remaining members needed to achieve their competent crew qualification. Sunsail recommended we get an instructor for this for the 6 days sailing. Though I didn’t book the holiday/comp crew I found the pre departure information very helpful and informative. Online itinerary, safety brief and portal for booking details all very easy to use.
At the venue the marina office staff were very helpful and provided additional information for our boarding, sailing and best supplies locations.
Facilities at this marina were great with toilets, showers, car parking and ATM on site and then local bars, supermarkets and pharmacies all in walking distance. With a larger town approx 15mins drive away for more variety if needed. Bus also available but limited times.
On board: The yacht had 4 bedroom areas 2 at the bow and 2 at the stern (front and back) with kitchen and seating in the middle. 2 bathrooms also off each bedroom. Deck seating and storage. We where onboard the Chilling Queen a 44 foot yacht which met all our needs for the week. Cooking facilities of oven and two gas hobs, fridge with mini freezer and utensils/pots and pans etc for basic cooking (though we did potatoes dauphinois with chicken one evening).
Staff: All the staff onboard the fortilla were amazing. They welcomed us and answered any questions we may have about the week and its events. They organised social events and games for us all to enjoy if you wished to do so (including quiz, gin and tonic night, cocktail competition, & social meals) Special thanks to India, Adam, Kieran, Finn and Bart for supporting all the yachts to moor safety and daily briefings with all the need to know items. I can’t praise the staff enough for their positive attitude and knowledge.
Instructor: Tadek was our instructor and from the moment he introduced himself we knew we would be in good hands. This young man has excellent knowledge of sailing and did a wide range of skills so all of the competent crew members could understand all details. Tadek supported us with any additional questions including any from our skipper that we may have and he showed a real passion for the sport and why he loves it so much. We were so happy with Tadek we asked if we could invite him back for a recap next year.
Overall a beautiful location to learn to sail with some very talented staff to support if you are new to sailing or just there to have fun. Highly recommend Tadek if you need an instructor.
This is our fifth Sunsail flotilla and without doubt the most enjoyable. This was all down to the fantastic lead crew of Jesse, Becky and Filip. Their professionalism in keeping all 11 yachts safe especially with a storm to cope with mid week, was exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they went to great lengths to make the whole week so much fun. Sailing around these stunning Dalmatian islands is an absolute pleasure. We will be back! Thank you Sunsail!
We spent a wonderful week on a flotilla with Sunsail. It was an amazing experience, the boats were well-equipped, and the itinerary was mapped out to offer a variety of opportunities to explore the Croatian Islands. Our lead team Adam, Jesse, and Becky were very professional, knowledgeable and FUN! I, unfortunately, fell on the first day of sailing while walking on the island and Becky managed all of the details to help us get to the mainland, get treated for my fractured arm, and get us back to the flotilla in time to set sail in the morning. Without her help, I am not sure I would have been able to continue on for the week. It was truly was an amazing experience and I look forward to sailing again.
Fantastic bareboat charter with Sunsail. The boat was clean and well maintained, check in and check out were very efficient. Mika and Elias were both supporting us from a route planning and technical point of view, and they were very responsive and professional. We had a fab time, would recommend to all our friends, and we’ll be back!
Another week long flotilla with sunsail this time out of agana. As always it was a fantastic week.
Our original boat was out of commision for the week so they upgraded us to a slightly bigger one which was great.
Adam and India were brilliant from start to finish, always willing to go the extra mile with India even researched amd booked a wine tasting for us on our storm bound day and Adams direction and calmness made docking a breeze!
Kieron gave us the boat brief which was the perfect length and amount of detail and after some staff sickness was the engineer for the 2nd half of the week and resolved our technical issues quickly and even taught us some bits.
Already looking at booking the next one.
Shout out also to fin who assisted India and Adam whilst we were down an engineer.
Absolutely amazing experience! Sunsail crafted us a package that allowed me to do my first flotilla as a newly trained skipper, but also get my family and friends to competent crew level with a Sunsail training skipper.
The whole experience was fantastic – apart from the having to come home part!
Two weeks with back to back Krka and Hvar flotillas, both highly recommended. Doing both enables the icing on the cake over the free weekend – a trip to the very beautiful island of Vis, which was a real highlight (not least because we had a fast reach both ways). Superb scenery, great food and a very different atmosphere to other islands.
Lead skippers Michael and Adam were highly professional, patient and good natured. India the hostie was very attentive and personable, mature beyond her years. Kieran, the “fixer of problems” was also attentive and good company. All great assets for Sunsail.
Our monohull was generally well maintained and sailed well. We have had issues on past flotillas (not all Sunsail) with dinghy engines, and this trip was unfortunately no exception. We think this is quite an important safety issue as very often the first use of a dinghy is free sailing alone, going off to a restaurant at night. Also, we think couples should be prioritised with lighter dinghy engines (2 stroke or electric) as 4 stroke engines are very heavy for ageing couples to move off the boat transom.
Finally, we’d just highlight that boat moorings and even buoys are extremely expensive in Croatia relative to other sailing areas. I don’t think Sunsail had made this sufficiently clear in advance. As a general rule, we favour wilder overnight destinations on flotilla holidays over marina and town quays – for example the final night of the Hvar flot was a raft at a restaurant in Sesula Bay – very enjoyable indeed, and free provided you eat onshore.
Marina Agana is a lovely place to start and finish a flotilla – there’s a very nice beach opposite the marina, with a laid back beach bar. Both Uber and Bolt taxi apps work well – we paid just €20 each way.
Overall, strongly recommended.
First Flotilla sailing holiday experience for this family with adult children and their friends. We arrived slightly apprehensive that the flotilla model would be too regimented and enforced-bonhomie for our preference, but we need not have worried. The holiday was a great success from start to finish thanks to the excellent lead crew (Jesse, Becky and Filip), the matchless surroundings and weather of Croatia, and the perfectly configured and maintained boat. Thank you Sunsail. Can’t wait to book the next one..
We have just completed a week’s flotilla
Sailing from Agana Marina with Jesse, Becky and Filip. These guys couldn’t have done anything more to make our week so much fun, they delivered in every aspect. Very knowledgable and perfect hosts. Even when the storm hit they had an excision planned.
The passage mapped for us made for some great sailing, scenery and ensured we had enough entertainment and provisions. Thanks guys!
