All aspects of trip from booking, to asking questions, to checking in and checking out went very smoothly. We’ll be back before long.
Fantastic customer experience. The staff are polite and patient. They take time to explain the boat and answer questions.
They even sat down to review our sailing itinerary and made suggestions based on local weather and sailing experience to ensure we started our week off right!
Boat was in excellent condition. Staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.
We had an overall good experience with our charter. The staff were friendly and helpful, the boat was in mostly great shape and the vacation was wonderful!
Sunsail has always provided an excellent charter experience for us. We appreciate the product this company provides, and the effort to create a reliable, high-quality sailing vacation.
From start to finish, the Sunsail owner and staff were welcoming, extremely competent, informative and professional. We can’t wait to go back. The boat was in excellent condition and the check-out and sailing guides made our family vacation the best it could be
The whole process is smooth from the start to the finish. All staff are very friendly and helpful. Loved the Catamaran and all the facilities on board.
I have chartered with Sunsail many times, in many destinations. The boats are very clean and in good shape and the base crews are friendly and helpful.

Boats are very well taken care of. The base crew was extremely helpful and accommodating.
Really good experience with the St. Lucia base team. From Sharlene in the office to Roger and George on the docks, the entire staff was helpful and attentive.
The boat was in good condition and the customer service was fantastic.
Extremely well trained staff at Roadtown. This is to include everyone I was in contact with on the docks, in the restaurants, and at the desk. Really impressive.
Excellent service. Boats are well maintained and well equipped.
Wonderful service and a beautiful trip.
I felt the customer service was top notch. All of the employees from the dock to the office were friendly and helpful. My crew, all of them first timers had a wonderful time and I am sure will want to return if not to the BVI to another Sunsail or Moorings location. I have chartered with moorings many times in the past and was completely satisfied, it was the same with Sunsail. Top notch.
Easy to deal with, caring friendly reservation staff and onsite staff
Base did a great job both preparing and returning our boat. No issues while sailing for the week.
Trade winds and ocean swells were amazing 5/6 days…
Excellent customer service. Very responsive and helpful and caring team.
Everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful.
Every Sunsail employee we met was friendly, professional and helpful. And the boat we chartered was clean and well equipped.
We loved the sailing experience, our Captain and cook. What a great way to see places normally not possible over a 1 week sail!
It works. A reliable, global brand I think I can trust
Freedom to cruise where we wanted, weather, warm sea, well equipped modern yacht.
Great customer service, reasonable prices, and huge variety of locations.
Perfect boat, perfect support from marina staff, nice place….. 10 points for everything……Only the wind could have been stronger
The host boat were incredible
Fantastic holiday. Really fun and professional lead boat team who were all very supportive throughout. Nothing was too much trouble for them which made for a really enjoyable and memorable week.
Ease of checking in. Friendly staff and well provisioned boats
Great boat, couldn’t fault it. The leads cews were very helpful, knowledgeable and on hand if we needed anything. Would recommend.
An incredible bucket list experience filled with unique island adventures at every stop. The Catamaran was comfortable and safe to operate. Our generator failed mid trip but a service technician was immediately sent to our location.
Unforgettable Flotilla from Marina Agana—Fantastic Sunsail 41 & Amazing Crew!
The Itinerary & Destinations
We started our sunsailing adventure from Marina Agana, and the itinerary was beautiful, covering some of Croatia’s finest coastal spots:
Stomorska (Šolta): A lovely first stop with lots of local charm.
Jelsa (Hvar): A beautiful town with a wonderful, lively atmosphere.
Milna (Brač): A picture-perfect harbor town.
Free Sail Day (Hvar Town): We loved having the flexibility to choose our own adventure. We headed to the west side of Hvar and had an incredible meal at Arsenal.
Maslinica Bay (Šolta): We finished off our amazing journey anchored in a stunning, peaceful bay just south of Maslinica.
Sunsail Customer Service & The Flotilla Atmosphere…
Our agent had actually accidentally booked us onto the wrong flotilla, but Sunsail very kindly and quickly fixed the problem for us. They managed to switch us over to the correct flotilla, even though it meant expanding the group to an exceptionally large 11 boats in total! Despite the size, it made for a truly fantastic social atmosphere. We met some wonderful people on the trip and had a brilliant time together.
The crew organized some fantastic social events and group meals throughout the week that really brought everyone together. On our first night in Stomorska, we had a brilliant group meal. As the week went on, we had a great cocktail competition in Milna (Brač) and a hilarious model boat race in Jelsa (Hvar). We finished the sailing week with an official regatta—competing with 11 boats was exceptionally fun, and I enjoyed it way more than I ever thought I would. For our final night on the water, we had an amazing raft-up in the bay south of Maslinica (Šolta) alongside a blindfolded dinghy race!
To top it all off, once we arrived back at base, we had a second group dinner. They taxied us up to a beautiful restaurant nestled in the hills for a traditional Croatian dinner cooked under an iron bell with wood fire all around. It was incredibly special and a total steal for an all-inclusive price of €45 per person.
The Crew (India & Finn)
What truly made the trip outstanding was our fantastic lead crew—India (our hostess) and Finn (our skipper). Although young, they were incredibly capable, confident, and knowledgeable, putting the entire 11-boat flotilla at ease and running all the events flawlessly. When it came to docking, they gave us clear directions and help whenever needed, making us feel perfectly capable.
They also took all the stress out of planning, giving us brilliant tips on which bays to choose for our daily lunch stops. On top of that, India went completely above and beyond handling all our logistics—she took care of our restaurant reservations for our free sail day, booked our taxis, and honestly couldn’t do enough for us.
The Boat (Sunsail 41 / D41)
We sailed on a Sunsail 41 (Dufour 41), and it was spectacular. Having only three people on board meant it felt exceptionally spacious. The yacht was very clean, well-kept, and handled beautifully.
We had a couple of days where the wind really blew and we got some fantastic sailing in—one day we ran with a single reef, and another high-wind day we took full sail, and the boat was just brilliant, incredibly stable, and felt completely safe. While there was some motoring involved on calmer days, it was well worth it because we actually saw dolphins twice!
One of our absolute favorite features was the barbecue on the back of the boat. We used it nearly every single day for lunch stops right on the sun platform, taking all the pressure off trying to find a restaurant midday. There was some minor pre-existing damage when we took over, but we explained this to the team beforehand and it was absolutely no issue at all during checkout.
The Weather
We sailed during the May half-term week (the last week of May), and the weather was absolutely fantastic. We had stunning 28–29°C days with very little cloud, if any at all. It made the entire experience feel like a postcard.
Tips for Future Travelers (Mooring & Budgeting)
While the lunchtime BBQs were perfect and the social events were incredibly fun, the only minor preference for us is that we would have liked the itinerary to include a few more organized group restaurant meals in the evenings.
Also, a big heads-up for future sailors regarding town quays and marinas, as they can add up quickly. To give you an idea of costs: the Stomorska town quay was roughly €70, Jelsa was closer to €90, and Milna on Brač was similar at around €80–€90. On our free sail day, we stayed on a mooring ball which was luckily included with our restaurant booking at Arsenal. Similarly, for the final raft-up in Šolta, we used the restaurant’s mooring lines to secure the 11-boat raft, so that was included with our final dinner. Definitely budget at least €300 extra overall for these port and quay expenses!
For lunch stops long lined for the first time ever to go see some submarine tunnels from the Cold war, we took a mooring ball in a bay for €20 short stay price, we anchored off the blue lagoon, and also in the islands outside Maslinica.
Final Verdict
Would I book again? Absolutely! In fact, I’ve already booked another Sunsail trip to Dubrovnik for later this summer, and I’ll definitely be booking another one or two charters next year as well. Highly recommended!
We had the trip of a lifetime in Belize on Moorings Chater Catamaran. The boat was spacious & clean with the best Captain ever Dewain. His knowledge of the different islands & where to find the best snorkeling was amazing. From day one to the end we all had the greatest experience on this little slice Heaven! Captain Dewain made us all feel special & treated us like family. We can’t wait to go back!
We can’t say enough how much we loved the Hvar flotilla from Agana Marina! The locations were beautiful. The boat was pure luxury, beyond our expectations. Everything worked perfectly.
But what really made this flotilla exceptional was the fabulous lead team! It was exactly what we needed as “beginners”. This was our first time sailing as a family and we were nervous and unsure of our abilities. Finn was an excellent lead skipper giving us the gentle guidance we needed to be successful! He even hopped on to help us with our first mooring! Our hostess India was so delightful, bubbly and enthusiastic. She took care of every detail and was always there for any small question we had. Ben was an excellent technician and helped us understand how everything worked. They never made us feel stupid for our many questions and helped us every step of the way.
This is not a the cheap operation, they go above and beyond to make us feel so pampered and taken care of, from the welcome breakfast to the fabulous last night dinner/awards and every activity in between. Highly recommend Sunsail and this flotilla!! We already want to do it again!!
Excellent week on the flotilla out of Agana Heading north. Highly recommend for beautiful sailing and scenery. Our lead team Harry, Cerys and Lois were super helpful and great to be with, adding to a stress-free relaxing week
Fantastic experience! Harry, Cerys and Lois were so much fun to be around, so helpful and all-round fantastic hosts. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a holiday.
Fabulous Agana Flotilla week! Finn (lead skipper), India (hostess), Ben and Louie (techs) were exceptional – professional, knowledgable and genuinely lovely team who brought the fun every day. They thought of everything, involving all the kids in activities, organising stunning locations and group meals but with a relaxed vibe and plenty of freedom to explore the beautiful islands at your own pace. We had the best time. Highly recommend.
We have just enjoyed a week away on a flotilla out of Agana. With a few previous experiences upon which to draw we can report this as one of the best flotillas. The cruising area is superb, the shore facilities abound with water and power on every mooring and Sunsail’s yachts are brand new, well specified and superbly maintained.
To take care of us and really cement the experience our lead crew of Finn, India, Ben and Louie were faultless in their attention, care and skills to ensure we all had a fantastic time. By far the best lead crew we have had. Thank you.
We were on the flotilla in Croatia split with Harry, Cerys and Lois as lead boat It’s was a wonderful holiday and the flotilla crew were fab, really helpful and friendly was lovely to sail with them I would highly recommend these guys 😉. The trip suggested and locations for stops were beautiful and well planned. We had a few issues on our boat but the crew were fast to respond and help fix where needed.
We did the Hvar Flotilla with Sunsail from Marina Agana and had a wonderful experience. The route was very nice, the boat in great shape and the lead crew was perfect. Finn, India, Ben, and Louie did a tremendous job. Finn is a very competent and calm skipper, India is a real sunshine, Ben and Louie are great techs. This was our third flotilla and another perfect sailing holiday, as we’ve expected from Sunsail.
Brilliant 5 nights sailing in Croatia with Sunsail
Boat was fantastic modern and perfect for us but without doubt its the lead crew that make the trip. Professional calm easy going knowledgeable with time for everyone no matter whats going on around them. Big shout out to Finn India Ben & Louie thank you so much guys you made our holiday so easy – we had a fantastic time!
My partner and I went on a Hvar flotilla with Sunsail in May 2026 – our first sailing trip as newly qualified day skippers. We weren’t sure how ‘fun’ the trip would be – thinking we might instead use it as a half way step to doing a bareboat charter with friends another time. In the end, we got so much out of the flotilla that we’d definitely consider doing the same again.
The main benefit for us was that the the flotilla lead crew took away a lot of the planning/research we might have had to do on bareboat – helping with an itinerary for the week, explaining weather conditions, making recommendations for anchorages & hidden gems, and insisting on calling ahead to make bookings on our behalf.
This lowered our mental workload massively and meant we could enjoy the actual sailing more. And have now figured out how to crew a boat two-handed!
Aside from loving the sailing, we had a blast with all the social activities (all the other.. erm.. customers were lovely), enjoyed great group meals, and would recommend a flotilla to anyone thinking of giving it a go.
Massive thanks to our flotilla crew, who made our trip fun, comfortable and memorable – we had no fewer than SIX crew with us, due to training some new hands. Shout out to Finn, India, Ben, Harry, Cerys and Lois, superstars every one xxx
Lovely week on Sunsail’s Hvar flotilla sailing around the islands just off the coast of Split. Very well looked after by the crew on our lead boat, thank you!
The booking process for this course was very easy and we had a lot of helpful information from Clara about the course. On arrival we were met by very friendly reception staff and they had catered for one of our party dietary requirements by making up an entire box of gluten free food for the 5 days ahead. We did our competent crew qualification with Sunsail and although it was a very tiring week, we had a great time and Tadek was a great instructor, very patient and explained things very well. He was also great company and took the time to make our week a memorable experience and we would happily sail with him again. We would do another course with him again.
We had an absolutely amazing week with the Sunsail team made up of Finn, India, Loïs, Cerys, Harry, and Ben.
This was my very first experience as a skipper, and it felt so comfortable thanks to such a fantastic crew on board Khaleesi, together with my stepfather Hervé and my girlfriend Julie-Ann.
A huge thank you to Finn for his always clear guidance during docking and mooring manoeuvres 🙏
Special thanks as well to India and Cerys for all the daily organization and support, and to Loïs, Harry, and Ben for the technical assistance and all the help throughout the week.
I truly enjoyed every moment of this experience, and I’m already looking into booking another trip with Sunsail probably a flotilla in Greece next time.
Thank you all so much for everything!
Victor
What an experience to sail in the beautiful British Virgin Islands on a 45 foot Sunsail Catamaran! I cannot begin to captivate the beautiful aqua waters, the white sand beaches and the lovely fish/coral we saw snorkelling the BVI’s. Exploring the rocks of “the Baths”, snorkelling over the Rhone ship wreck, dinner at Saba Rock, beautiful schools of yellow fish at Prickley Pear, exploring Anegada Island on mokes, secluded white sand beach in White Bay on Guana Island, the isolation of Sand Spit and drinks at Pirate’s Bight Restaurant were some of the highlights of the trip.
Wonderful experience not only with Sunsail but sailing around to the different islands. Very low key. Wonderful snorkeling. Island food is not so good but we did cook some of our own. Goods including food, adult beverages, and eating out very expensive. Expect to pay double from what you are used to. Triscuit Crackers $9 a box 😳 beer 🍺 $56 a case (24 pak). Enjoyable week though & I highly recommend Sunsail and doing a sailing trip around the islands.
My friend and I (ladies in our 50s) just completed the 5 day Competent Crew training with Sunsail in Croatia. There were 5 students on board – 2 doing their Day Skipper and 3 of us doing Competent Crew.
The setup at Sunsail is wonderful. We were arriving late on the Saturday and concerned about getting on board for our 8.30 start on Sunday but it was all very easy. Arrived at the marina to find a note for us on the reception door with instructions on how to find our boat. On arriving at the boat we found the bedroom ready with an en-suite toilet and a surprisingly comfortable bed. One learning if you are getting an uber let the driver see the actual location as per your joining instructions as we had an interesting diversion and were finally dropped off at the opposite side of the marina.
The next morning we woke to the sound of the lapping waves and to meet our crew mates and our instructor Tadek. He spent the morning going through the extensive safety briefing with us and then we were ready to set sail.
Our first day at sea involved a demonstration of the man over board drill, explanations of points of sail and a bit of helming. We then returned to Agana and had our dinner together at a lovely pizzeria in the marina.
Monday morning we set off again – learned some knots, did a lot of sailing, learned stern to and side to mooring and moored up for the evening at Milna a really beautiful little town. Had a couple of beers on the boat and then went into Milan for dinner.
Tuesday was the day of the night sail – we practised the man over board drill a number of times in the day and then anchored up for dinner cooked on board (by the crew) before putting on all the warm gear for our night sail. We set off about 8pm and navigated by waypoints using the hand held compass and even by the North Star! We moored up at anchor in a beautiful calm bay and went to sleep about 1am. Bring warm clothes, a snood for your neck and a woolly hat!
Wednesday we were allowed a bit of a lie/in and set off sailing at about 10am following the obligatory coffee on board. We sailed in the morning and then anchored up at Blue Lagoon for lunch. Had a little swim in the bay – pretty chilly in April and then set off sailing again. Our stop on Wednesday night was in a beautiful bay called Sesula where you can moor for free if you eat at the restaurant – easy decision!!
Thursday was the last day and for us the blowiest one. Lots of fast fun sailing and we learned how to reef the sails (make them smaller) to ensure safe sailing on high winds. We arrived back at the Marina around 6pm on Thursday having learned so much about sailing to discover we had all passed and celebrated with a beer provided by Sunsail.
This review would not be complete without explaining how amazing our captain Tadek was on board. Some people are born to teach and Tadek is one of them. His patience, good humour, knowledge and experience made learning so pleasurable for 5 of us. At our age we have met lots of teacher and I can honestly say Tadek is the best. His focus was safety and ensuring we understood the why of what he was teaching us not just the what and if we didn’t get it the first (second or third) time he explained it he would find a new way to demonstrate. He also provided instruction on a few things outside the syllabus – winching somebody out of the sea – because we asked. I doubt you can specifically request Tadek as your instructor but if you are lucky enough to get him you will have hit the jackpot!
An absolutely unforgettable experience with Sunsail Athens!
We chartered a Dufour 44.4 for a week with our five children, and everything was perfect from start to finish. The Sunsail team was simply wonderful—kind, attentive, and always available when needed. A special thank you to Mike for his invaluable advice: thanks to him, we discovered beautiful islands perfectly suited to our family itinerary.
The sailing area of the Saronic Islands is truly incredible, offering a wide variety of stunning landscapes and charming stops along the way.
The boat itself was impeccable: extremely well equipped, very comfortable, and impressively stable under sail, even in rough seas. We felt safe and confident throughout the entire trip, which is essential when sailing with children.
An experience we wholeheartedly recommend, and one we hope to enjoy again very soon!
