Level 2 Qualified Skipper

From the experience that you have told us about, you are qualified to skipper any Sunsail monohull or catamaran (within 10 feet of the largest yacht you have previously sailed and denoted in your resume) in all Sunsail destinations at Level 1, & 2 listed below.

As you will see from the below table, the skipper of the yacht will be required to show proof of qualifications in select destinations such as: Greece, Croatia, Italy, Tahiti, Belize, and Seychelles. This must be the original copy of your qualification. Learn More here.

Although no sailing qualifications are required for cruising in certain destinations, we strongly advise that you take any sailing certification on holiday with you. This may be useful should you be contacted by Customs or Port Police.

Wind: 5-20 knots	Wind: 10-20 knots
At least 5 days or 100 miles as skipper on an equivalent size yacht Level 1 destinations offer the easiest, most forgiving sailing, ideal for novices and less experienced sailors. Lazy line mooring, line-of-sight navigation and calm conditions mean you won’t sail outside your comfort zone.	At least 10 days or 200 miles as skipper on an equivalent size yacht Our intermediate sailing destinations, Level 2 sailing areas offer a greater challenge for sailors more comfortable on the open water. Enjoy strong winds and longer spells of open water sailing, suitable for more experienced skippers.
Navigation: line-of-sight sailing. Basic knowledge of charts and ability to plot your position required.	Navigation: you will need to understand tidal flow and navigate in open water.
Moorings: predominantly stern-to mooring in the Mediterranean and buoys in the Caribbean.	Moorings: predominantly anchoring. Protected anchorages, Mediterranean style anchoring and/or marina slips.
