What are the best beaches in Lefkas?
Insider Recommendation: Foki Beach

Before we go into the most popular beaches in Lefkada, here’s one of our underrated favorites.
Foki Beach rarely appears in best beach recommendations, but we think it should! It is situated in Fiscardo, Kefalonia, a sweet little seaside village with beautiful old Venetian buildings. Stroll past the olive grove (where you can sample incredible fresh olive oil) and take a dip in the sea. It’s a safe and scenic place to swim, and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can even find the Foki sea caves.

6. Avali Beach

Perfect For: Adventurers
The wild, untamed atmosphere of Avali Beach attracts all kinds of travelers. Don’t be surprised if you arrive early and see tents dotted across the sand, as it’s a popular place to camp overnight and watch the stars. There isn’t a lot to do at Avali Beach; it’s just sand, sea, and a single beach bar up a flight of wooden stairs. Grab a burger and a soda, and enjoy the view.
5. Kathisma Beach

Perfect For: Families
If you’re looking for a beach where you can dive headfirst into a party or take on some fun challenges, Kathisma Beach is one of the best beaches in Lefkada for it. Unlike the more remote options on this list, Kathisma Beach is always lively.
Groups of friends flock here to enjoy the spectacular surroundings, watersporting options, and beautiful sunsets. There are also tons of bars and restaurants to explore near the sand and pebbles – we recommend visiting Monato for exquisite seafood.
4. Milos Beach

Perfect For: Relaxers
Ready to completely let go? Just a short ways from Kathisma Beach, you’ll find Milos Beach. The atmosphere is totally different here – it’s difficult to reach via land (a 20 minute hike from Agio Nikita through the mountains, and then down a steep set of stairs) so it’s almost an exclusive hangout for sailors.
The long, wide expanse of sand feels more remote than the other best beaches in Lefkada, perfect for getting lost in nature and enjoying the peace and quiet.
3. Agiofili Beach

Perfect For: Groups of Friends
Sailors traveling with friends will marvel at this gem on the southern coast of Lefkada. Agiofili Beach is a crescent-shaped cove tucked in amidst lush vegetation and white cliffs. It’s easily one of the most beautiful beaches on the island; when the flowers bloom in the summer, it looks like a postcard. Well-loved by locals, this is one of the best beaches in Lefkada for windsurfing, as well as just watching the day go by.
2. Egremni Beach

Perfect For: Couples
This shining jewel on the western side of Lefkada is a sight to behold.
Considering how we’ve discussed Egremni Beach before in our Best Beaches in Greece blog, it should be no surprise that we think this spot deserves the hype it gets. It’s difficult to describe what makes this beach so magnificent, but among other things, the sea is almost luminescent in that intoxicating turquoise hue.
As a sailor, you’ll feel pretty smug when you see other beachgoers descend the 350 steps down from the clifftop, and you won’t be restricted for time like those who hire boat services from Vasiliki or Nydri. You get to enjoy this slice of heaven completely on your own terms.
1. Porto Katsiki

Perfect For: Everyone
A short sail from Egremni Beach, you’ll find heaven on earth in Porto Katsiki. In our 2026 Travel Trends piece, we predicted that Lefkada would be one of the most sought-out destinations of the year, and Porto Katsiki is a big part of why.
This beach has been one of the most popular beaches in Lefkada for decades, and for good reason. The way the cliffs extend as far as the eye can see makes it feel like the end of the world. The water gets deep fast as you enter it, perfect for a long, relaxing swim right by the shore. Trust us, the majesty of Porto Katsiki just can’t be missed. If you were only to visit one beach during your charter, it should be this one.

Best Beaches in Lefkas FAQs
The west coast of Lefkada undeniably offers the best beaches. All flanked by towering white cliffs and lush pine forests, you can choose any one at random and you’re bound to be enthralled by the picture-perfect natural beauty. The cliffside access roads are inconvenient on foot, but by yacht the journey is effortless. However, if you’re interested in getting to know the east coast, the waters there are much calmer, ideal for swimming and watersports.
Perhaps we’re cheating – as these beaches have a combination of sand and pebbles – but the best sandy beaches in Lefkada are Porto Katsiki and Egremni Beach. Just a hair’s breadth from each other, these picturesque beaches exemplify the most intoxicating beauty that Lefkada has to offer. We recommend you bring water shoes so you can walk and swim here in comfort.
While not unknown by any means, Milos Beach is the best hidden beach in Lefkada. Due to how difficult it is to access via land (visitors would have to scale the mountain before descending from the cliff), it is usually much quieter here than it is at any of the other west coast beaches. Enjoy the privilege of being able to moor right by the beach, and enjoy how remote and tranquil Milos Beach feels.
