Our Bareboat Charter in Phuket, Thailand was the experience of a lifetime. Everything went smoothly, and we couldn’t be happier with the outstanding service by the Sunsail Team. The Juneau 41 Sailboat was in excellent condition, and all of the preparation, provisioning, and chart briefing were professional and well done!

The base staff in Grenada were amazing people!

Because the Sunsail Flotilla is the perfect choice for less expert skippers like me. In addition it’s a good opportunity to know interesting people.

Our family returned again for a second flotilla with the Sunsail team at Agana, this week we did the Brac itinerary, last year we did the Hvar itinerary. We had a completely outstanding lead crew, India, Finn and Ben who could not have done more for our family (Inc two teenage boys). They helped with every aspect of our week; assistance with our boat when needed, advice on routes and great places to stop for lunch, bookings each evening in marinas and restaurants, fixing anything on the boat but most importantly they brought so much fun to the week and they had an incredibly calm approach when guiding us in to the marinas each day.
I should also mention the boats at Agana are of an incredibly high standard, the boat we were on was new last year so we have been very lucky.
We would 100% recommend both itineraries and look forward to returning again. This year we had a bit of time to kill on our final day and so booked ourselves in to the Marinus Beach Hotel which is opposite marina. We will definitely do that again too.

Our crew : Alex, Cally and Louie were really great and helpful. We really enjoyed the whole week with our three kids! Thank you!

A truly wonderful lead crew. India, Ben and Finn made the week! So knowledgeable, friendly and inclusive. We sailed for six days …. Family of 4…. Only one experienced skipper in our family so all the support and expertise appreciated. Would highly recommend to anyone!! Felt lively and peaceful at different times. Something for everyone!!

We had a brilliant week with Sunsail in Croatia. Our lead crew, Cerys, Lois and Harry were incredible, they went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a great time, gave us confidence with berthing and sailing generally and were fantastic company. I couldn’t recommend the trip more highly and our kids (13, 11 and 9) absolutely loved it

We had the most amazing sailing trip in Croatia with Sunsail. The boat was superb and the lead crew ( Harry, Lois and Cerys) were excellent and made the experience seamless, safe and loads of fun!

Amazing flotilla Week in Croatia. Beautiful Islands & a big thankyou to the fantastic SunSail team. Cally was a fabulous host and made the week .

Just back from another brilliant week sailing the Sunsail Hvar flotilla — our second time sailing out of Marina Agana, four years after our last trip, and every bit as good, if not better.

This time our lead crew were Skipper Finn, Hostess India and Engineer Ben — a brilliant team who genuinely made the week. Finn’s directions guiding us into port each evening were impeccably clear — what can be a tense, stressful task on a big boat in a small port was made an absolute breeze under his instruction. India’s energy and enthusiasm were infectious, making us all feel part of one big family having fun together all week. And Ben was always on hand to sort out any boat issues, though credit to the boat itself too — it was pretty reliable and largely issue-free all week.

We switched things up and took a Sunsail 454L catamaran, Paloma, rather than our usual monohull — a first for the six of us, spanning three generations, and it took a little adjustment. She’s a big boat, mostly in width, but astonishingly easy to manoeuvre — you can practically spin her on the spot, and we never felt the extra windage of the hulls causing problems. The mainsail was hard work to hoist though: big, heavy sail, rigging that wasn’t the smoothest, and lines routed back to the cockpit through enough pulleys to add real friction. Where the cat really won us over was living space — trampoline up front, a sunken front deck/patio, the spacious saloon, an outside aft saloon and an upper deck too, loads of options for a family group. The forward-facing saloon windows meant you could still see the horizon from inside, so no seasickness doing the washing up underway!! Galley-wise, the fridge and freezer space was fantastic too — and the freezer genuinely kept things frozen all week, a first for me on a charter boat!

The flotilla itself was a nice size this year — eight boats (four monohulls, four cats) and around 38 people all told, smaller than the 14-boat flotilla we sailed with last time, and honestly a great group vibe for it: still well connected with the lead crew and each other, just a bit more intimate. Weather was kind too, with consistently good winds all week bar one proper blow of ~25 knots on day one that had us sailing on jib alone for the afternoon.

Our route took us to lunch stops at Nečujam (twice, in different bays), Smrka, Vrboska and outside Maslinica, with overnights at Štomorska Town Quay, Jelsa Town Quay, Lučice (a lovely free-sail stop on a mooring bouy overnight), Milna Marina and rafted in Šešula, before a brilliant final sail back into Agana with some great tacking up the channel. A few repeats from last time (Milna, Jelsa, Lučice, Šešula) but plenty of new spots too — Štomorska is a really pretty little town quay, and Lučice was a highlight, with Konoba Familija serving a lovely meal right on the bay and great swimming and paddleboarding.

A few practical notes for anyone following: shorelines we found hit and miss (I think just takes practice!). Later in the week, Finn’s trick of lassoing a rock from the dinghy, using a massive bowline knot worked a treat. Anchor holding was patchy in a couple of spots too (as the depth shelves off steeply very close to shore), so don’t assume you’re set without checking. Milna marina, while handy, was expensive and less picturesque than the other stops. Several places are cash only, so bring plenty of EUR. One more tip: with our eldest crew member aged 81, we asked for two planks rather than one for getting ashore — side by side, they made for a much wider walkway, which made all the difference to helping them balance. And on drinking water: still worth pre-ordering a good amount through the pre-arrival provisioning (which works brilliantly — everything’s stowed and ready when you arrive), but we discovered the taps at marinas and town quays give perfectly good drinking water, so we refilled empty bottles through the week instead of buying more. Saved money and a fair bit of plastic!

As ever, the social side made the week — including a pub quiz at the Mojito Bar in Jelsa, a gin and cocktail party on the terrace overlooking Milna Marina, and the highlight of the week … a blindfolded dinghy race in front of the raft in Šešula.

We joined the Brac flotilla and had an unforgettable week with 5 other boats. A great mix of stunning sailing, beautiful destinations and a fun crowd.

Our yacht IA ORANA was a 38’ Oceanis and a perfect size for our family of 5. The Sunsail team, Harry (Skipper), Cerys (Host) and Lois (Technician) were outstanding.

Harry’s briefings each morning were clear and he gave great recommendations on places to visit en route to our next destination. His questionable taste in music and dance skills were more than compensated for by his brilliance at getting us safely moored up each evening and his all round professionalism.

Cerys was a bundle of joy, greeting every boat with the same amount of warmth and enthusiasm and organising fun events each evening that brought the whole flotilla together.

Lois was a superstar on all things technical, at one point disappearing into the lazy bag on our boom to sort out an issue we had with hoisting the main.

Nothing was ever too much trouble and all of them consistently went above and beyond to make the whole week a wonderful experience.

We will definitely be back!!

We have sailed with Sunsail at least a dozen times now and we will always recommend. We had a 34 foot boat for the two of us. The flotilla group were lovely. Lead boat were always there for us. Croatia is really special and scenery is beautiful. People are friendly, food is fabulous and if you like turquoise clear waters to swim in you honestly can’t find a better holiday.

Sunsail 7 day Hvar flotilla holiday

Our first sailing yacht holiday was simply fantastic, and it has definitively convinced us that many more will follow. The location and route were beautiful, but what truly made the trip exceptional was the support crew. Finn, India, and Ben were absolutely wonderful. There was nothing they could not or would not do for us, and our crew was incredibly impressed by their sailing knowledge, technical skills, and genuine friendliness.

Our beautiful boat, ‘Jippi’, served us perfectly. The accommodation on board was top-notch, providing a comfortable home while allowing us the perfect opportunity to hone our sailing skills. We also loved the flotilla format. It offered the ultimate combination of social gatherings, great camaraderie with other crews, and the independence to explore at our own pace. We cannot recommend this experience enough!

We had an amazing 5 days doing competent crew (my wife) and day skipper. Every aspect from Sunsail was perfect. The boat was clean and well equipped. More importantly the course was amazing. It was detailed with every attention to detail and correctly for the Day Skipper, intense and hard work.

The best bit about the experience was our young instructor Tadek who was a brilliant educator making both of us (30 years his senior) very comfortable in a very constructive learning environment. He is a real inspiration to have reached where he is in sailing. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone. He is a real asset to the Sunsail instructor team.

First time sailing in Croatia with Sunsail.
This was an amazing experience. Beautiful scenery, well thought through route and fantastic entertainment in the evenings gave a good balanced feel of being a part of the flotilla.
Our yacht, Jippi, was very good and well maintained. All the hassle and worries were removed by the lead crew. A big shout out to India, Ben and Finn for being knowledgeable, professional, relaxed and friendly. Nothing seem to be too much trouble!
Thanks again. And we will be back for another flotilla holiday, no doubt!

First time using Sunsail & sailing in Croatia!
Great holiday, yachts were good spec & well maintained – staff were friendly and always on hand to help.
Special shout out to our lead crews Fin, India, Marin & Ben, very professional whilst friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were pro active in making sure we were looked after – a credit to themselves & Sunsail!

Brac Flotilla – Sunsail
This was our first flotilla experience and it exceeded all expectations!
Eight of us on board ‘Harmony’ – a very comfortable and spacious 46’ yacht. Immaculately clean and well kitted out.
We spent an idyllic week in the beautiful sailing area around the islands of Brac, Hvar and Solta. Stopping for a lunchtime dip in the crystal clear water (and possibly a cheeky Mojito??) was just wonderful! We had so much fun and some pretty good sailing too!
All this combined with an exceptional lead crew -Harry, Lois and Cerys. They were /are the perfect mix of fun, talent and professionalism.
Spotting Harry on arrival in to harbour was a highlight! He gave us confidence and reassurance with his calm approach.
He gets it.
Cerys can supply all the fun required. She has a real feel for her flotilla and the crews she looks after.
Lois is a technical wizard, fixer of anything and mobile fender! Brilliant job!

The combination of all crews in this flotilla was perfect. Some fantastic friends and memories made. One of the best weeks ever!

This was our first flotilla holiday with SunSail and it was absolutely fantastic. The lead crew – Finn, India and Ben, were amazing. They were always on hand to help out, their briefings were informative and very helpful, especially for a novice crew like us, and they organised fun events, but there was no pressure to join in with the things we didn’t want to do. Ben was always able to fix and technical issues we had and Finns help in mooring was clear, relaxed and easy to follow. Finally India was always there to help, effervescent and smiling!
We sailed around Hvar, Šolta and Brac and were taken to some wonderful bays with lots of knowledgeable places to stop at on the way. Beautiful scenery, blue water and crystal clear waters.
Our family group of 8 sailed in a lovely, well appointed catamaran with wonderful air conditioning! Some of us had never sailed before and that ms to the lead crew, SunSail and the catamaran, everyone had a wonderful time and already want to do it again!

Fantastic week in Greece on a catamaran. Had a fantastic skipper Yorwos! We anchored in remote spots, swam in the Aegean Sea, ate wonderful Greek food. We have bareboated in the past but Yorwos enriched the experience far beyond our expectations.

Great experience going around the islands and being out on the water. Managed to do a whole range of experiences from docking up in a marina and visiting the town to just anchoring up in a bay and sleeping there. Skipper was great and showed us around really nice places and was quick to get involved with the group. Only downside was that we had constant problems with the dingy motor throughout the week which is why I cannot rate 5/5

Our family of five had a wonderful experience and our captain Johnny Ante took the experience to the next level. Not only was he gracious, funny, and knowledgeable, but he suggested and planned incredible activities that we wouldn’t have otherwise found. If I could give Johnny six stars I would… Thanks for the wonderful experience!

Along with four friends we spent one week touring the Cyclades on a 45 foot catamaran. Yorwos Korniotos our captain was engaging, extremely knowledgeable and took us to unbelievably beautiful remote locations. Spending the night on the only boat in a deserted cove was a once in a lifetime experience. We created memories which will last a lifetime.
