Marina Agana - One week bareboat

Our base is situated at Marina Agana in Marina village, just a short taxi ride from the ancient coastal cities of Trogir and Split. Marina is a peaceful Croatian fishing village made up of cosy, terracotta roofed houses built from bright white stone. It’s an impossibly picturesque start to your Croatian holiday, and ideally situated to reach the coastal and island highlights of Dalmatia. Spend your first day getting familiar with the region and your yacht, or kick back with a pivo (beer) in one of Marina’s waterside bars.

Marina Agana to Šešula Bay

Found on the western edge of the lush and leafy island of Šolta, Šešula Bay is an attractive, open inlet offering safe and secluded anchorage for overnighting on board. Two local restaurants give you a choice of dining options, each with a view out over the sparkling water, and a free-of-charge mooring buoy if you decide to eat at their place.

Discover Šolta

Maslinica town
Just a short walk from Šešula Bay will take you to Maslinica town, with its 5-star marina and white-stone houses in a tiny bay.

Every island in Croatia has a proud wine-making history. The one on Šolta is kept alive by Vicko Kaštelanac. He will be more than happy to pick you up from Šešula Bay and drive you to his vineyards for wine tasting and local delicacies, all still made by hand.

Šešula to Komiža, Vis

Depart early from Šešula for an exciting spot of blue water sailing as you strike out for distant Vis. Vis is the most Westerly of the Dalmatian Islands, so hope for a strong wind as you point your bow towards this Adriatic gem. Head for Vis’ western coast, where the traditional town of Komiža waits in a broad and sheltered bay. This beautiful, hill-fringed town is home to a unique waterside castle and is a great spot to try Vis’ famous wine and seafood or scuba diving.

Discover Vis

Explore the blue cave

Komiža town is perfect starting point to visit the Blue Cave, 6 miles away on tiny Biševo island. The cave is under protection, meaning one cannot enter it with their own dinghy, but has to be taken in for a 20-minute tour. That can either be arranged directly from Komiža with a speedboat, or after mooring in front of the cave entrance, when the tour guide picks you up on their boat.

The light bends in perfect angles to make the cave illuminate blue, and is best suited for a visit when sun is at its highest point.

Komiža to ACI marina Palmižana, St. Klement

Turn north at the Vis islands’ westernmost tip, pointing your bow in the direction of the spectacular Pakleni Islands. Situated just across the channel from the famous town of Hvar, Pakleni Islands are the best place to leave your yacht safely in order to discover this gem. On the biggest island in the archipelago- St. Clement, on the northern side, is the ACI marina Palmižana, the busiest marina in the Adriatic.

Vinogradišće bay

This has become the most popular bay in the area, due to the excellent high-end restaurants found here, the “Laganini” beach club, and its proximity to Hvar town. Hike here from Palmižana marina, enjoying numerous botanical plants and open-air art exhibition, or grab a mooring buoy for a whole-day lounging.

Jet-set Hvar town

Hvar town is known as the “Croatian St. Tropez”, full of clubs and bars. Take a water taxi to avoid dealing with traffic, and take in the sights, including the fort above the town, where the dungeons await.

St. Clement to Vrboska, Hvar

Cruising east along Hvar’s northern shore will take you alongside the Golden Horn beach on Brač island, reaching the narrow inlet at Vrboska. Croatians know Vrboska as ‘Little Venice’, and when you arrive you’ll soon spot the resemblance. Walk the waterfront and explore the network of streets at Vrboska, or pull up a seat in a waterside restaurant for some delicious Croatian cuisine.

A fortified church

The Fortress Church of Saint Mary of Mercy is a fascinating structure and well worth a visit. The original church was rebuilt as a fortified castle after a Turkish attack in the 15th century.

Vrboska to Bobovišća, Brač

Complete your tour of the Dalmatian islands with a return visit to verdant Brač. Back out on the Adriatic, you’ll squeeze through the “Gate of Split Channel” to find the town of Bobovišća on the western end of Brač island, hidden at the end of a long, shimmering bay. The town has been built around an attractive forking inlet, both of which sides have numerous mooring buoys. Stop for dinner in a single local restaurant or take a taxi into the Brač’s inland to discover more about its tradition.

Discover Brač island

Suggested lunch spots

Golden Horn, or Golden Cape, is probably the best known beach in Croatia. It is found next to Bol town, on the way from Vrboska it will be visible on the starboard side. The beach gets a couple of centimeters longer every year, and due to currents and winds around -it never looks the same. Explore the numerous bars, do some snorkelling around near-by caves, or rent a bike or scooter and go to peak Vidova Gora – the highest tip of all Dalmatian islands, guaranteeing an amazing view.

Bobovišća to Marina Agana

It’s a short journey from Bobovišća back to our base at Marina where you need to arrive no later than 5 pm, so take the time to enjoy your final day and do a little more exploring. Visit Krknjaši Lagoon for a long lunch break in picturesque surroundings, or stop at the ancient fortified town of Trogir on your way back to marina Agana. With so much to see along the Dalmatian Coast, you’ll want to make the most of any hours you have left.

The small lagoon between Fumija island and south side of Čiovo island is the perfect spot for a final day lunch break. Kayak on the glassy waters of the lagoon and drink in the views or have a cocktail in the beach bar.
