Then set your sights on stunning St Lucia, the jewel of the Windward Islands where the cruising ground is every bit as enchanting as it is challenging in the most delightful way. St Lucia Anse Mamin Beach by Kate Jones Photography

1. Anse Mamin Beach

Anse Mamin is a best-kept secret black sand beach located near the more well-known and more developed Anse Chastanet beach, which is where you’ll discover the semi-hidden path that leads to a little uncrowded piece of island paradise.

2. Antillia Brewing Company

If you’re into craft beer, be sure to stop by the Antillia Brewing Company in Rodney Bay, which was established in 2015 by a group of Canadian expats and serves up a variety of palate-pleasing ales, lagers, and stouts.

4. Hike the Pitons

The world-famous Pitons are an iconic landmark so when you’re in St Lucia, you can’t pass up the opportunity to hike the teeming volcanic formations and take in magnificent panoramic views of the surrounding Caribbean scenery.

5. Marigot Bay

One of the most beautiful places in all of St Lucia, Marigot Bay is a protected bay on the west coast of the island that also made a cameo appearance in the original Dr. Doolittlefilm. The Marigot Bay Resort and Marina make this an especially popular spot with the yachting community.

6. Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary

Visit the Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary on Bequia’s northeast coast to see juvenile sea turtles and learn more about the conservation of these beautiful creatures.

7. St Lucia Distillery

The Caribbean and rum go hand-in-hand so if you’re into locally-aged spirits, be sure to hit up the St Lucia Distillery in the Roseau Valley. Call ahead if you wish to join the distillery’s Rhythm of Rum tour, or you can just show up and enjoy sampling the various rum offerings.

St. Lucia Ziplining Treetop Adventure Park

9. Treetop Adventure Park

For a thrilling on-land excursion, plan a visit to Treetop Adventure Park, which is located on the east coast of St Lucia near the historic town of Dennery Quarter. Feel the ultimate adrenaline rush as you buzz down the ziplining course set in the middle of the lush rainforest.

10. Try Fig Banana Beer

Bananas are an affluent crop found throughout the entire island but if you visit the Banana CounTree restaurant, you can sample something really special and unique—fig banana beer. There are also plenty of other menu items that feature bananas as the main ingredient, including the ever-indulgent banana rum sauce.
