New for 2027: Sunsail’s First Corfu Flotilla

Now, we sail Corfu.

Sunsail is launching its first-ever flotilla in Corfu for the 2027 season, a brand-new 7-day route joining the existing Lefkas offering as the second flotilla destination in Greece. It’s built around everything a flotilla does best: a route that’s been sailed and refined, a lead crew who knows it inside out, and a fleet of boats making the passage together.

What Makes a Flotilla Different

A flotilla means you’re still at the helm of your own yacht, but you’re not figuring it out alone. A lead crew runs ahead, sorts the moorings, and knows exactly where to stop for lunch or a swim. You get the independence of sailing your own boat, with backup on hand the moment you need it. It’s less about being taken somewhere, more about being shown the way.

The Route, Day by Day

Day 1 Gouvia Marina, Corfu The week starts here. After boarding and settling in, you’ll meet your fellow flotilla crews and the Sunsail lead team at a welcome briefing. Gouvia is one of Greece’s biggest, best-equipped marinas, so it’s an easy place to stock up before setting off, and Corfu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with Venetian architecture and narrow alleyways, is a short taxi ride away if you want a first look at the island.

Day 2 Petriti, South Corfu A 16-nautical-mile sail south brings you to Petriti, a working fishing village with none of the polish of Corfu’s busier spots. Moor at the town quay or anchor in the bay, then spend the afternoon in the water before a taverna dinner of fresh seafood caught that morning.

Day 3 Gaios, Paxos Island The longest leg of the week (21 nautical miles, around four hours) takes you to Paxos, an island wrapped in olive groves, with Gaios as its harbour town. Wander the lanes, stop for a coffee on the water, or take a dinghy out to the nearby Blue Caves before the fleet reconvenes for the evening.

Day 4 Parga, Mainland Greece A shorter, 12-nautical-mile hop crosses to the mainland and Parga, a harbour town built up a hillside beneath a Venetian castle. Climb up for the view, then spend the afternoon on Valtos Beach or exploring the waterfront with the rest of the flotilla.

Day 5 Lakka, Paxos Island Back to Paxos, this time to Lakka at its northern tip, a sheltered, near-landlocked bay that’s calm even when the wind picks up elsewhere. It’s a good day for slowing down: a swim in the cove, a wander along the harbour, dinner as the sun goes down over the water.

Day 6 Free Sail The one day with no fixed stop. Head to Sivota for waterfront cafés, the quieter village of Plataria, or drop anchor at Garitsa Bay below Corfu’s old fortress; your lead crew will help you pick based on the day’s wind and your own pace. It’s the flotilla model at its best: structure when you want it, freedom when you don’t.

Day 7 Gouvia Marina, Corfu The fleet sails back together for a final night in Gouvia, time for one last dinner with the crews you’ve spent the week sailing alongside, before disembarking the next morning.
