It’s important to us that you always have a great holiday experience with Sunsail. Please read through the recent reviews our customers have sent us so you can hear directly from them:
-
It’s not really about what Sunsail could do better, it’s more about which of our friends would be interested and also as we get older, the rigours of a sailing holiday aren’t quite as appealing.
-
Straightforward booking and preparation.
Well equipped boats in predictable condition.
Excellent locations. -
Well planned routes and great support; I really don’t think we could have been looked after any better by Tadek, Eleanor and Luka
-
Sunsail run a great operation and our experience was exactly in line with the marketing and communications provided by Sunsail in the lead up to our holiday.
The yacht was clean, tidy and fully operational. The people were friendly and service prompt and professional. -
The sunsail team were amazing. They covered all bases from navigation to hospitality and maintenance. They made us feel completely at ease with what was a new experience for us as sailors. Please pass on our thanks to Tadek, El and Luka.
-
The staff in resort were great, friendly and helpful. The boat was beautiful and really well appointed.
-

Fun attitude
And commitment to making our time with you as safe and fun as possibleVery very well done – our second time with sunsail and there will hopefully be many more
-
I like the relaxed atmosphere and the assistance from the lead boat which enables us to sail with the minimum crew.
-
The pre-departure info was very helpful and comprehensive. Checking in and out was very well organised. The flotilla concept is a great confidence builder. The lead team were helpful and highly available. I only didnt give a 10 because we lost 2 days sailing due to the weather, and if we had bare-boated that would likely only have been 1, as the flotilla has to cater for the least-able crew.
-
Rally helpful crew at the base and all really well organised. Also, importantly, made sure we kept safe in the stormy weather!
-
Staff were nice, polite, and willing to help
-
The lead crew (Tom, Paul and Claudia) were great, just the right amount of help and advice. The boat was pretty much new, so was excellent. We had done a flotilla with Neilson in the past and there was no comparison, your guys/boats were so much better!!
-
I like how the flotilla is organised and the support of the team when sailing
-
Sailing in Croatia never ceases to amaze with spectacular views and using Sunsail in Agana adds to this experience
-
From the initial enquiry through to the end of our trip all Sunsail staff were very helpful and informative.
-
Naples continued the consistency of service that we expect to receive from Sunsail
-
Really friendly staff
-
The lead team made it a great experience in so many ways
-
The boat was exactly what we wanted with a very thorough technical briefing. The lead crew were just fantastic and all the stops we made were so beautiful. We’re so happy we’re booking again for next year
-
The way Claudia, Liv and Ella looked after everyone.
The Hi spec of the boats.
The location, our 1st time in Croatia, a beautiful country.
-
We had an awesome time on the flotilla sailing around Croatia. The lead crew were great, really helpful, friendly, knowledgeable. They made sure everyone had a really good time.
-
Really well positioned sailing base with super helpful staff and great boats for the Belizean coast
We took a 340 leopard catamaran for 5 days with two couples on board. Three cabins gave us loads of space and though the catamaran changes the connection to wind and water, it’s the only type of vessel to take in these waters.
The scary warnings they have to give about the implications of running into corral should be tempered by the care they take in the briefing to give you local knowledge and easy to follow waypoints built into the on board gps to help you navigate safely without expert navigational experience.
We initially thought the boat was over specced with hot water showers, saline to fresh water converter, generator, ac, coffee machines and fully equipped galley. When we realised that you need to be fairly self sufficient in these waters for food, water and energy we valued the Gucci nature of the kit.
This was a brilliant way to pootle, swim and fish in the unspoilt south of this amazing country – we will be back and for longer this time.
Thank you to the sunsail/moorings staff for being so helpful and maintaining my the boats to a high standard.

First time in the BVI and loved it. The people were lovely as was the food. I have to say that much as the yacht was in perfect condition, it was infested with cockroaches which is inexcusable to me. How can a yacht be handed over like that? I found food quite expensive as well, but none of this detracted from the amazing time we had.

I had sailed for years and finally took the RYA five-day skipper course with Michael, the instructor. This was an unforgettable experience. Michael is an extraordinarily knowledgeable and experienced sailor. He demonstrated patience and provided skilled teaching guidance. Revise the course before you go! Michael continually tests your knowledge, which is needed to apply it to the practical course on the boat. It’s hard work but worth it! Sunsail made it very easy for me in the booking process, answering my questions and explaining every detail. I passed and have since sailed with joy and confidence.

We had the best time in Belize. Our captain was so knowledgeable of his country. Every island we stopped at he knew everyone. He would dive and catch fresh fish and conch. Our chef was a delight. His food was so delicious. He had lots of experience in the kitchen.
The sailing was magnificent and the islands were a delight. Snorkeling was awesome.
The staterooms were perfect. Each had its own private bathroom and shower.
Best vacation ever. -
For the second time, we came to Athens. This time the itinerary took us to the Saronic Islands. Final destination: Nafplio.
Once again, the services of the Sunsail team in Athens were very good. The supplies were there and of quality. Especially since we had asked for a quick departure, wanting to leave at the end of the afternoon for Egina. Everything was perfectly respected. The same was true for the return.
Finally, a word about the boat: a one-year-old Sunsail 46. Very good boat with the charm of electricity (winch, annex) due to the power generator.
In short, pure happiness! -
The flotilla was the right call for us as we had never been here before. It took the stress out of finding a dock, getting there in time and getting around the harbors. The sun, weather, winds were wonderful. We never motored. Provisioning was a short walk. The food, sights and people were amazing. We all (8) had a memorable experience. Made some friends on the other boats. I would come back here and do this all over again in a hearbeat.
-
Sailing in Belize is superb because it is not crowed (usually had the anchorage to ourselves), good winds and excellent snorkling. What really set it apart was having Rudy as our skipper.
-
We headed supper holidays. Super catamaran, super stuf of Late sale company. . Weather was exelent. Comfortable. We are recomended
Super kelione , geras oras ir daug pivandeninio gyvenimo ispudziu geru pasikroveme -
We planned our sailing trip for the shoulder season so we knew we would still have rainstorms. Some of the restaurants on the cayes were closed. We still had a great time and we brought our 3 little kids for their first sailing trip and they did great. The boat was clean and stocked with everything we needed and the marina was responsive and helped throughout the week when questions arose. Our sailing trip was a great experience even with the rain.

Great experience on a beautiful new yacht (SunSail 454). Super plush amenities and all the right safety gear to make for a great trip. Diego and the entire Placencia base crew made the onboarding and orientation process easy and efficient. Daily weather briefings while underway informed, and at times changed, our plans to make the most of what Mother Nature gave us in early December changeable weather. Only thing I was disappointed with us was that it ended. We will hopefully be back for more soon!

Stunning country! Beautiful boat, amazing snorkeling and fishing, great captain! We rented a brand new 45 foot catamaran and hired our skipper Jeremy and cook Miss Malu for our vacation. We were two couples but the boat could have comfortably accommodated one more couple.
Belize boasts the second largest barrier reef in the world, and we got to explore a bit of it on our 7-day sail. Jeremy charted the course and powered/sailed the boat, leaving us to simply enjoy the trip or to help out as we wanted.
Seriously, the snorkeling was phenomenal. I’ve snorkeled around the Caribbean over the past few decades, and it’s always sad to see the state of the coral, which is mostly dead in most places. Not so in Belize! Sure there is evidence of coral bleaching and dead coral around, but there is so much live coral and consequently lots of reef fish. It felt like snorkeling in a giant aquarium.
An unspoiled underwater wilderness. -
What an amazing way to see the reefs and atolls of Belize. We had an absolutely amazing week on the water, snorkeling, fishing, eating and enjoying the company of friends.
The boat was immaculate – modern, comfortable, and nimble in the water. And it doesn’t matter if you know how to sale or not – don’t miss out on brining a local captain along with you! Jeremy was simply the best – and a fish / lobster whisperer who always knew where to find our next dinner!
He listened to what we wanted to get out of our week and new where to go and what to do to delivery only the best of Belize! And there are amazing places you can sail to like Glovers Atoll that are only permitted with a local captain on board.

This was our 2nd nine-day cruise around the BVI with Sunsail/The Moorings. Each time we’ve hired a Captain. Our 1st time the Captain was just “Ok”, this trip our Captain, “Rico” was awesome. Rico is engaging, knowledgeable, helpful, and a pleasure to have on the boat. If you need to hire a Captain, we highly recommend you request Hendrico Vivier [Rico] you won’t be sorry 😊

Just returned from a bareboat charter based out of Zea Marina in Athens. The yacht (a Beneteau 46.1) was high-quality, only about 18 months old and well maintained. The Sunsail team had ensured that the yacht was spotlessly clean, really well equipped and ready for us. We were able to enjoy a wonderful week of exhilarating sailing and can highly recommend the team at Athens for great service, friendliness and a warm welcome. Thank you!

Fabulous week. The boat was presented excellently, in great condition and spotlessly clean. The handover was very efficient and the technial briefing conducted efficiently with plenty of opportunity to ask questions or seek clarification. Most impressive was the lead crew on the flotilla. They were always smiling and could not have been more helpful. The morning briefings were comprehensive and highlighted any possible challenges we might encounter. We did not have any major equipment issues during our sailing trip, but technician Ella was always ready to help wth anything that arose. The flotilla participants gelled quickly and a good social atmosphere developed during evenings together. All the overnight moorings were handled well and the lead vrew were onhand to give assistance if requested.

Amazing week sailing waters around Belize. Weather was excellent. Clear days and sailing. Snorkeling and food was exceptional. Boat was well maintained and accommodated nine of us easily. Couple of small issues with outside refrigerator, but nothing that impacted the trip.
We have used Sunsail on several other excursions and looking at using them again next year for a Bareboat around Croatia.

I took the Day Skipper course with Amy as our instructor. I cannot recommend the course and Amy highly enough. The course is very well organised, providing us with lots of practical experience in all sorts of weather in the best sailing spot in Europe. Most of all it was Amy who made the difference. She is not only very experienced, but also a highly talented teacher and leader. A+ experience overall.

I took part in a day skipper course last week having previously completed the competent crew course in June at the same place. I travelled solo and was joined on the course by one couple and another solo traveller along with our instructor, Michael. There were two of us doing the DS course and two doing the CC course. I arrived at Marina Agana on Saturday pm and after meeting my instructor and the other solo traveller we boarded our 47 ft yacht, Anegada which had 4 cabins and 4 heads (bathrooms). The course started on Sunday am with a detailed health and safety and yacht briefing. We then sailed for 4 nights/5 days travelling to Drvenik Veli, Solta, Brac, Hvar and Split before returning to Marina. This included 4 hours night sailing as part of the course. The weather was variable but we had good wind most of the time and some testing conditions. The yacht was quite old c.10 years and was being retired (sold) from the fleet at the end of the season but it was a good yacht to learn on. Unfortunately the windlass for the anchor broke on our trip and had to be replaced by Sunsail’s maintenance team. This caused some delays to our schedule as we waited for them to come out to us and source the replacement etc. Michael kindly agreed to extend the course into Friday ( until c. 1:30pm) which was planned to be a ‘free’ day and his day off, to complete the syllabus.
The boat was well provisioned by Sunsail and Michael for the whole week for breakfasts, lunches and the night sail dinner. On other evenings we went ashore to eat in the local restaurants.
The DS course was full on with passage planning required on one or two evenings as well as the night sail until 1:30am. Despite the physical and mental challenge it was a great experience. I successfully completed 13 out of 14 modules and will return early next summer to complete my DS course and obtain some more practical yacht sailing experience as even if I had passed in full, I still feel I need more experience under the guidance of an instructor before chartering a yacht on my own. I can’t recommend Sunsail and my instructor Michael highly enough. They are excellent in everything they do. Michael is very sociable, is passionate about sailing and a great instructor. Patient, assertive when necessary -
Hvar flotilla 21-28.09.24
First time sailing with Sunsail and it definitely won’t be the last.
All the shore staff and especially our lead boat crew were fantastic.
Our yacht was spotless and we only had one minor issue with our traveller which we repaired while sailing.
All the overnight stops were excellent and information from our hosty Imogen was very useful for finding great places to eat.
Our lead crew skipper Michael was brilliant, with 9 boats in the flotilla he was always calm and professional.
The engineer Carrig was fun and although we didn’t really need him he was always entertaining to chat with.
Overall from the complimentary 1st day breakfast to the g&t party, cocktail competition and final group meal the lead crew were always fantastic.
Croatia is a beautiful place to sail and I have been with two other companies before, none compare to Sunsail.
