
7 Day Procida Flotilla Itinerary – Italian Cuisine
Discover the best of Italy and create memories that last a lifetime with SailEatalia’s Italian Cuisine Procida Flotilla. Depart from our base in Procida and sail to the Pontine Islands and along the magnificent Amalfi Coast to explore some of Italy’s best local cuisine. Depart from our base in Procida and set sail to the other amazing islands of Ischia and Capri and along the magnificent Amalfi Coast to taste and explore the traditional local cuisine magnificent. Each Italian region has its own local food and delicacies, so you can expect truly authentic, traditional food in every island that you visit. Sail, eat and drink your way around Italy’s legendary Amalfi Coast as an add-on to your yacht charter from an additional fee per person, which includes some dinners.
SailEATtalia’s Italian cuisine Procida flotilla will ensure you have the support and assistance of a lead yacht with professional crew on board. There is a chance that the flotilla route may be changed due to weather conditions or particular/unforeseen events.*
*The cost of participation starts from €495 per person, which includes: Lead yacht, assistance with moorings, all food and wine mentioned above as well as transfers to all restaurants and wineries.
*Cost of the yacht, mooring fees and fuel are not included*
*Excursion to Pompeii on Monday from 8am – 1.30pm, at an additional cost of €150 per person (minimum 6 persons). Please note: this tour will be confirmed with a minimum of 6 participants. Charterers must decide at check-in, and once the minimum is reached, payment will be taken. The cost is 150 Euro per person and includes both the private guided tour and round-trip transportation from Sorrento

Procida
Spend the evening in Procida’s pastel-hued marina, nestled on the northeast corner of the island. Brace yourself for a warm welcome with a refreshing drink and pizza party as you get to know your new flotilla companions at our base. Sleep on board your yacht and wake up to your morning flotilla yacht briefing.

Things to do
Don’t worry about doing everything on your first day – after all, you’ll be back in Procida soon enough! We recommend a relaxing afternoon of swimming and sunbathing. You could also wander through the Piazza Marina Grande, and pop into one of the many great bars with a view of the boats before heading to the base.

Procida to Forio, Ischia
Head towards Ischia and stop in the port of Forio. Considered the “cultural heart” of the island, Forio Ischia is full of artisanal goods, and there are a number of cultural events held here each summer. Once we arrive, we’ll be heading away from the shores and up into the mountains for a special treat.

Things to do
Here we will eat the typical and famous Ischian rabbit stew, a recipe that has been passed down through the generations (for those who are not rabbit lovers, there will be an alternative entree available). Unwind and bask in the spectacular views from this artisanal restaurant at the top of the mountain and visit a traditional wine cellar.

Forio, Ischia to Sorrento
Facing the Bay of Naples, you will anchor in the beautiful coastal town of Sorrento. You will get to eat some of the freshest food accompanied by local wines in a traditional restaurant in the centre of the city, and in addition to this, you and your fellow sailors will have the incredible opportunity to tour the nearby fallen city of Pompeii.

Things to do
While moored in Sorrento, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Pompeii with a private guide. Marvel at the mosaics, frescoed menus, and lead pipes for running water, as history comes to life before your eyes. Gaze upon the casts of humans and animals as your guide tells their stories and you will glimpse into their lives before the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD that left the city frozen in time.

Sorrento to Amalfi
We will then explore the magnificent Amalfi Coast, where you will enjoy an aperitif before indulging into local fresh produce for dinner. This is a very special stop on your Procida sailing itinerary – few places in the world have as storied and rich a food history as the Amalfi coast.

Things to do
There are dozens of ingredients and dishes worth tasting along the Amalfi Coast – some we recommend priortising in your search for flavour include Delizia al Limone, a world-famous dessert invented by pastry-chef Carmine Marzuillo in 1978, and simple Neapolitan pizza made with local tomatoes and mozzarella.

Amalfi to Capri
Move on from Ischia towards Capri, where you will be free to explore the island’s picturesque blue grottos and ancient Roman ruins. As we mention on our Where to Sail in Italy blog, Capri is one of the best places to sail for culture.

Capri has a number of mouth-watering dishes you’ll be able to try. Caprese Salad is one of the most well-known options, but there’s also Raviolli alla Caprese (filled with creamy caciotta cheese) and Torta Caprese (a decadent chocolate and almond cake) to name just a few!

Head back to Ischia, but this time we will stop in the main port, where you can enjoy wine tasting in one of the oldest wineries of the island and a buffet of some of the delicious traditional local food.

Things to do
Since this is your last chance to experience Ischia, we recommend taking some time to relax and take in the sights – sunbathe on Pescatori Beach, opposite the Aragonese Castle, and visit the Bay of Sorgeto (which we consider one of the best beaches in Procida, and one of the best beaches in Italy) to soak in the famous thermal baths.

Ischia Port to Procida
End your culinary Procida sailing itinerary back in the Marina of Procida. Here we will celebrate our adventure with a final farewell meal in one of the local restaurants – seafood, lemon dishes, pasta and aperitifs are sure to feature on the table.

This is your last chance to explore Procida, so make it count! Head to Terra Murata, Procida’s vibrant historic centre. Get lost in its winding streets and visit the old Royal Palace of Palazzo d’Avalos or wander around its church, Chiesa di Santa Margherita Nuvoa, which boasts beautiful views overlooking Capri. Why not also buy some lemon liqueur as a souvenir?
