Cruising on a catamaran

Martinique Catamaran Charters

Relax and unwind in Martinique where lush mountaintops and tropical forests are met by picture-perfect shorelines in this desirable Caribbean catamaran charter destination. Formed by volcanic activity between St. Lucia and Dominica in the Lesser Antilles, Martinique combines a contemporary blend of French culture and Caribbean vibes. Indulge in a bit of everything – from delectable French-Creole cuisine to iconic black-sand beaches.

Sunsail’s Martinique base opened in the winter of 2021. On our recommended one-week sailing itinerary, you will undock in La Marina du Marin and head to one of Martinique’s treasured beachside towns, Grand Anse d’Arlet. On the next day, you will have the opportunity to explore the capital of Martinique, Fort de France.  As the largest city in the French Antilles, Fort de France is a mecca of French-Caribbean culture and is where you’ll find plenty of shopping, dining, and sight-seeing. Sail north to St. Pierre or the “Paris of the Caribbean” where you can take a guided tour of the city by train or visit to the Saint-Pierre Zoo. On day four you will sail your catamaran to the northernmost part of Martinique’s west coast. If you are looking for the perfect day to spend swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding and sunbathing, Anse du Ceron is a don’t miss. From Pointe du Bout, you can take a car to Trois Ilet’s Casino Trois-Ilets and participate in classic games like roulette, stud poker, and craps. There’s also plenty of live music and dancing nightly. Before sailing back to Le Marin, spend your sixth day in Sainte-Anne. Anchor beside pristine beaches and use the dinghy to visit beachside towns.

Enjoy year-round northeasterly trade winds and average temperatures of 75-86˚F on a Martinique catamaran charter. With fantastic sailing conditions, the Windward Islands have desirable line-of-sight navigation and easy passages between anchorages.
