On the way to Jelsa
The “Zlatni Rat” beach
On the way to Hvar Island you will pass by one of the nicest beaches on the Dalmatian coast. Translated “Golden Horn”, the beach is not sandy but made of the tiniest pebbles. It also moves; the currents and winds make this place unique each day. Anchoring is possible, but it may take two tries. There are also mooring buoys and a town quay. Make sure to calculate in the wind that is always present, which is also the reason why there is a great windsurfing centre on the beach. Hikers will also get a fair share of joy – Vidova gora, the highest peak of all Dalmatian islands, rewards a 2-hour hike with a once-in-a-lifetime view.
Suggested lunch spots
The small cove of Smrka features a huge entrance to an abandoned submarine shelter. Use your lunchtime break to anchor for lunch, then explore the tunnel or take a kayak around the cove.
Jelsa, Hvar
Leave Milna and sail south, manoeuvring between the islands of Šolta and Brač and heading southeast until you reach the island of Hvar. Cruise along Hvar’s beautiful coastline studded with rolling hills and lush forests until you reach Jelsa, nestled between mountains and tucked in a lovely bay. Fall in love with Jelsa’s old world charm and explore the picturesque waterfront. Jelsa is known for its food, so find a konoba (restaurant) and sample the delicious fresh seafood and local Hvar wines.

Free Sailing Day Hvar
By now you’ll have brushed up on your sailing skills and feel confident enough to head out into the Adriatic on your own or in small groups. The free sailing day is your chance to explore and see any sights you were longing to visit that aren’t on the flotilla itinerary. Set sail and head to wide-known Hvar town, overnighting in a busy marina, or pick up a buoy in the southern Vinogradišće bay, soaking in the numerous beach clubs. If you want to sail further afield, you and your crew can also choose to head to the island of Vis. It is a great place to explore and a chance to rack up a few blue water miles along the way.

Your crew will suggest choosing an overnight option as early as possible so they can help with bookings.

Suggested lunch spots
Hidden amongst steep cliffs of southern Šolta, the entrance to Tatinja bay is marked by a lone rock in the middle of the bay. To the right hand side inlet are a couple of mooring buoys, belonging to a well hidden restaurant, serving only self-grown and self-caught food from open fire, in a relaxed and family atmosphere. A great choice if you don’t want to cook yourself.
Šesula, Šolta to Marina Agana
Sail into the Adriatic once more, putting the island of Šolta behind you as you return to marina Agana. Remember all the fun moments at the prize giving party in the base in the evening. On Saturday, take the time to explore Split further, chilling out on the popular promenade or searching the local markets for a few Croatian keepsakes. Make the most of your final day and soak up as much of the atmosphere as you can.
