Great service and a wonderful resort, pool, restaurants, and of course the sailboat.

Easy to arrange

I did three separate charters with Sunsail/moorings this spring and each one of them was on a well maintained, clean boat. The staff is managed by Brittany who is respected by her entire staff. They all work very well together as a team. It will be my pleasure to work with Brittany and her staff again.

The boat was all set up, ready and clean. The skipper was great – Morgan was flexible and willing to explain actions and get everyone involved.

The standard of training was fantastic.

Facilities in Tortola were great. The boat was in excellent condition and well appointed. People were friendly and responsive. Only negative – 3 hours to get fuel on the morning of our departure.

Great experience all around for our entire group.

Truly wonderful week sailing on flotilla in Croatia. The crew were so professional and helpful, the Marina staff were exemplary in sorting us out so that we can’t to return to explore more of the beautiful islands and enjoy more great sailing with Sunsail.

A truly memorable holiday that the whole family enjoyed. Very well spec’d boats and amazing staff to ensure the trip was as good as it possibly could be. Will definitely look to do a flotilla again and would have Sunsail as my first choice. Thank you for making the trip so fantastic and making us feel at ease.

We sailed from Agana in Croatia and back.We had fantastic weather, and our skipper Anja was very helpful,organised and set us up for an even better experience.She helped us with taxi arrangement as well as restaurant bookings ,this was much appreciated.
We had a 3 bedroom boat that is definitely not recommended for more than 3 people.

Anja was our skipper,very well organized and neat.We were well informed of everything all the time.She even helped with restaurant reservations ect.The boat is very small and I would suggest 1 couple in the 3 room boat.

We just came back from a week flotilla in Croatia. Our lead crew was amazing, Esme was on hand for bookings, Fraser welcomed us into every dock showing remarkable patience when the boys line throwing went wrong and Miha visited every night to check on all things technical

We sailed as a family for a week with Rob from Sunsail. The children earned their RYA “Competent Crew”, my wife and I “Day Skipper”. We had a great time and learned a lot. Rob was great with the kids.

We had a beautiful week sailing in the BVI. The Sunsail dock facility is beautiful and the people are great and very helpful. We booked the wrong boat, too small. But Lindsay Roberts was able to provide us with a beautiful 50′ upgrade boat and at a reasonable price. So we had all the needed equipment to enjoy our trip.

I have been chartering with The Moorings & Sunsail for 30+ years. The service from Travis and Seanna was top notch. When we arrived the provisioning was complete and already loaded on the boat. We received a complete and useful briefing from Seanna. This is a cruising area which is protected from the open ocean by a large barrier reef. It is also a very shallow area where your boat generator might have ingested sand from previous charterers which chews up the impeller — however, Travis sent a tech to replace the impeller while we were in Green Turtle Cay which was very convenient for us. The 454L was in excellent condition.

Our 3rd bareboat charter in Belize. The Sunsail staff was excellent (special shout out to Diego and Kevin), and our catamaran was in great shape. The online paperwork system made our check out fast and simple. Belize is a challenging cruising ground, so pay attention to the chart briefing and the cruising guide, both provide good information on safe approaches! Belize is quite simply the best snorkeling and diving in the Caribbean, the best I have seen anywhere. We also enjoyed trips to Mayan ruins at Nim Li Punit, and later at Altun Ha, before and after our 8 day bareboat. Belize is wonderful, and the people everywhere are fun and welcoming. There’s a reason we have done this 3 times now! Check out the Hobbs Brew Barge in Placencia, especially if you crave a craft brew!

In one word, an extraordinary experience. At the reception office we were greeted by two beautiful and smiling girls and received vip service. At the yachts, very professional and welcoming maintenance personnel were waiting for us who explained everything in a professional manner. During the cruise we needed something from the office and they answered quickly and professionally. Highly recommended!!9

Charter sailing, with any company, in the BVIs is a joy. Great, reliable winds and weather make for a sailors paradise. Sunsail / Moorings provides great boats and service and has a great facility / location.

i have a group of sailing friends and we have been doing a bareboat charters around the world together each year for the last 20 years.
this year we went to Sunsail: Antigua
first let me talk about the base – nelson’s dock yard is a wonderful, protected landing and a nice place to start and end the journey – interesting things to see, easy access to stores to provision and buy souvenirs, lots of fun restaurants to try. the team at sunsail put the boat on and off the dock before handing the boat over (kind of like having a pilot coming into a major harbor), so while our crew may have enjoyed the challenge, we were also fine not having the drama of docking a boat we did not have a lot of experience with.
next antigua – plenty of great sailing detinations – the winds and weather did not disappoint. lots of easy to navigate to anchorages…..just easy and fun and interesting.
the boat – we had a Sunsail 44 with a 4 cabin layout. it was in good working order, clean, intelligently laid out and sailed very nicely. one of the nicest roomiest monohulls for its size.
the team at Sunsail – the team at the base were friendly and helpful and professional. there is a lot more paperwork and explicit focus on safety then in the old days. however the team was thorough in their boat and map briefing and didn’t rush it and took our followup questions and made us comfortable. we enjoyed their smile and enthusiasm seeing us start our charter and their smiles and help winding things up.

Sunsail is a large operation and has some amenities that we have not seen elsewhere. Nice showers on shore with towels. Three places to eat close by and grocery shopping including a French deli within easy walking range. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Our catamaran was pretty new, very clean, well equipped. Everything worked well. My only complaint was the minimal storage in the cabins.
We modified our itinerary a bit as we went and had a good time. Winds were good and we did most of our traveling under sail. We have some experience sailing but enjoyed experimenting with the sails.
Our only problem with crowds was at the Baths. I would avoid that in the morning when tour groups may be more likely. Didn’t see really colorful coral, etc but I did swim in the midst of 40 or 50 little yellow fish–a thrill for me. S upper at Marina Cay was nice. The Pirate’s Bight was very noisy but I enjoyed the musician and dancing.
BVI is a beautiful, beautiful place.
PS: If you fly to St. Thomas and take the ferry make reservations for the return trip. We did not and the 2 convenient ferries were sold out, though we did get another after a mad dash up the coast.

Amazing sailing week with Sunsail in Tortola. Excellent welcome on the base, well maintained boats, strong winds and overall nice sunny weather, easy mooring on balls, fun sailing on Sunsail Catamaran 40 with all amenities (electricity, air conditioning, etc…), nice restaurants and bar on the islands, unforgettable trip to Anegada, a dream week once again thanks to Sunsail!

We enjoyed a fantastic 8 night bareboat sail around the BVI on a Sunsail 46 from the Sunsail/Moorings marina at Tortola. Having been used to the attention to detail of Sunsail Europe, this was sadly lacking at Tortola. There was no welcoming contact from the base in the weeks leading up to our charter. Our air con wasn’t working, there was no gas in the canister, our Wi-Fi didn’t work and multiple door handles fell off. We wasted our first morning stuck in the base while a whole host of friendly staff worked to fit the problems.
The BVI is very busy in February and on three mornings we had the 7am stress of trying to secure a Boaty Ball mooring at popular locations. These were all booked in 10 seconds! We had prebooked three marinas and all our restaurants which proved a good call.
Our boat itself was excellent with all the major features like sails, engine, generator, tender working well throughout the week. We had some great sailing in the moderate-fresh Easterly Tradewinds and also enjoyed the warm temperatures and water for swimming and snorkelling. We booked a paddleboard but didn’t get to use this due to the significant swells, even at “sheltered” anchorages.
All the Sunsail staff were friendly and helpful and with more care with the preparation and presentation of the boat, this would be a five star review.

The trip exceeded our expectations, but Radge (our captain) MADE the trip! From the start, he asked us our priorities on the trip and what activities we wanted to focus on and he delivered on all of that. There were a couple of us nervous about getting sea sick and there was a storm that came through one of the days, and he changed up the itinerary to get us to a safe place to be for the night that was protected from the high winds. He also dove for conch and made us homemade ceviche, along with homemade tortillas one morning and homemade stuffed jacks another morning! He also took me snorkeling and let me stick with him so he could tell me what I was seeing and pointed out things to me too. He was the highlight of the trip, make sure to request for him!

An outstanding holiday. Wouldn’t hesitate to go again. A few niggles regarding maintenance, the Sunsail damage policy and the completeness/accuracy of the yacht details. Neverthess we have used Sunsail for three trips to the BVIs and have had great holidays each time.
