The Flotilla Hero course is a chance to earn your RYA accreditation while enjoying a flotilla holiday in beautiful Greece or Croatia. You can take your assessment while discovering the coastal highlights of these two incredible sailing areas, and when qualified you’ll be able to skipper a charter yacht in any of our global destinations. Tick RYA qualification off your bucket list.
The RYA Competent Crew course aims to introduce the complete beginner (12 years old and up) to cruising under sail, equipping novice sailors with the skills required to be an active and useful crew member. No previous sailing experience or knowledge is required.
Day Skipper Prerequisites
The RYA Day Skipper practical course for designed for sailors (16 years old and up) with significant previous sailing experience (a minimum of five days sailing and living on board and around 100 miles logged is required) and a comprehensive understanding of the theory behind the practice. Students preferably take the RYA Day Skipper theory course or have theory knowledge to this level. The theory course is shore-based or may be completed online. Please contact our UK Sailing Schools team for more information on the Day Skipper theory course.
The Day Skipper practical course does include some night sailing. If you choose not to complete this part of the syllabus during your holiday you can or defer the night sailing and complete the course at our UK sailing school upon your return. Please note the Day Skipper practical certificate will not be issued until all of the syllabus has been completed.
