Spartochori, Meganisi
Spartochori is a charming village on the island of Meganisi, situated on a hillside overlooking the Ionian Sea. Known for its traditional Greek architecture, olive groves, and relaxed atmosphere, this peaceful spot is a favorite for yacht charterers looking to experience authentic Greek island life. Its proximity to Lefkas makes it an easy and beautiful first stop for a flotilla, offering a mixture of nature, culture, and local flavor.

Mooring
Meganisi Port: The port of Spartochori has a small harbor with a few moorings available for yachts. These moorings are typically first come, first served. It’s advisable to arrive early in the day during peak season to secure a spot.
Anchorages: Alternatively, you can anchor off in the sheltered bays around Spartochori, such as Agios Nikolaos Bay, which offers good protection and crystal-clear waters. The anchorage offers peaceful surroundings ideal for swimming and relaxing.

Discover Kalamos Town
Ancient ruins and spectacular views
Take the walk up from the harbour to the ruins of the monastery for fantastic views over the Ionian towards mainland Greece.
Suggested lunch spots
Drop anchor in one of the many coves dotted along the north end of Kalamos Island and enjoy swimming in the deep turquoise waters, followed by lunch on deck. Remember to keep your eyes peeled for dolphins.
Vathi, Ithaca
Turn due south out of Kalamos Town, and take on the longest leg of the week, a 20nm reach to Vathi, on the famous island of Ithaca, home to Odysseus. Continue down the coast until you reach a narrow waist 200m across. Navigate through the narrow entrance into the Kolpos Molou Bay, which shelters the little town of Vathi, the capital of Ithaca. Moor up and revel in this center of Greek archaeology, folklore, and culture.

Vlycho Bay Harbor: The bay has a small harbor with a limited number of mooring spots, suitable for smaller yachts. As it is popular among visiting yachts, it’s advisable to arrive early, especially during peak season.
Anchorages: For those seeking more tranquility, anchoring in the bay itself is a good option. The shallow, calm waters offer great conditions for anchoring, and the surrounding scenery adds to the overall experience.
