Level 1 Qualified Skipper
From the experience you have shared with us, you are able to skipper any of our Sunsail monohulls or catamarans (within 10 feet of the largest yacht you have previously sailed and stated in your resume) in any of our level 1 destinations listed below.
As you will see from the below table, the skipper of the yacht will be required to show proof of qualifications in select destinations such as: Greece, Croatia, Italy, Tahiti, Belize, and Seychelles. This must be the original copy of your qualification. Learn More here.
Although no sailing qualifications are required for cruising in certain destinations, we strongly advise that you take any sailing certification on holiday with you. This may be useful should you be contacted by Customs or Port Police.

| At least 5 days or 100 miles as skipper on an equivalent size yacht Level 1 destinations offer the easiest, most forgiving sailing, ideal for novices and less experienced sailors. Lazy line mooring, line-of-sight navigation and calm conditions mean you won’t sail outside your comfort zone. |
| Navigation: you’ll need to understand tidal variations, navigational markers, cope with strong currents, and use the navigation equipment on board to make a passage plan. |
| Moorings: In the Mediterranean, you will be predominantly anchoring. Protected anchorages, Mediterranean-style mooring, and/or marina slips. In the Caribbean, you will be predominantly picking up a mooring ball, anchoring, or using marina slips. |

Qualifications needed
