Nestled in the lush green heart of Central America and crowned by the world’s second largest barrier reef, Belize is an exotic medley of tropical Caribbean beauty, alluring Mayan culture and welcoming Creole charm. With warm, balmy trade winds, line-of-sight sailing, short passages and miles of cayes and palm-studded beaches, Belize is a sailor’s paradise perfect for experienced sailors.

Explore the 400 islands and cayes of the Mesoamerican reef. Visit idyllic South Water Caye, a coral island that makes up part of Belize’s World Heritage Site, or head for Lagoon Caye for scenic kayaking opportunities. Divers can hire a local skipper to help them explore the world-famous Blue Hole in Lighthouse Reef; a perfectly circular limestone sinkhole plunging 480 feet into the blue water for which it’s named.

Take a sailing vacation in Belize and you’ll experience one of the few truly unspoilt destinations in the world. From our base in Laru Beya Marina on the west of Placencia Peninsula you can explore picturesque anchorages hidden along palm-fringed cayes and see over 500 species of tropical fish while snorkelling or diving along coral reefs. In the evening, sip sweet rum-infused cocktails or sample crispy conch fritters and buttery crab claws as the sun sets over the waterfront.

Please note that to charter in Belize without a skipper, you must first fill out an application to obtain a temporary Certificate of Competency. These are issued by the Belizean Port Authority, and are a legal requirement for all yachts without a local skipper on board. Please ensure you read our Travel Information and the Sailing Restrictions which apply to charters in Belize.
