Overview
Sunsail actively promotes and encourages families to develop their sailing skills together and offers a wide range of courses designed for family groups.
To participate in RYA courses children must meet the minimum age requirements.
Start Yachting Course – Minimum age 8+
Competent Crew Certification Course – Minimum age 12+
ICC and Day Skipper Certification Course – Minimum age is 16+
Sunsail is able to welcome older children (16+) on any of our courses at any time of year, provided they are accompanied by at least one adult (18yrs+). Children under 16 are welcome to join you on a private family course.

Where to take this course with Sunsail
Family courses can be booked throughout the season (subject to yacht availability) Family courses must have a minimum of 2 people age 18+ on board.
Youth sailing academy
We also offer the Sunsail Youth Sailing Academy weeks. These are as popular with parents as they are with the teenagers themselves and are scheduled to coincide with school holidays. Please see here for more about the Youth Sailing Academy weeks
