Sailing Conditions

Sailing in Vietnam is best during the South West season – May to October.

Winds are southwest force 2 to 5 with excellent day time winds, calm seas and plenty of sunshine. The winds are generally light to moderate and tend to start late morning and blow consistently till dusk when they die away for a comfortable nights anchorage. The seas are mainly calm with plenty of sunshine and only the occasional shower.

Ho Chi Minh City and the south are hot all year round, particularly from May to August, with daytime temperature ranging from 24ºc to 35ºc. Hanoi and the north experience four seasons with June to September being the hottest at around 33ºc and December through February the coolest at 18ºc.

Tidal range is 1 to 2 metres.
