New Charter base at Poros, Saronic Gulf

New for 2008 we have opened a new flotilla and charter base in Poros, Greece. Set sail from our base at Epidavros and the Saronic Gulf is on your doorstep.

Discover a mythological land dotted with ancient ruins, striking architecture, quaint waterside towns and rugged hillsides. Be one of the first to explore this enchanting area with Sunsail.

Deserted bays, traditional fishing villages and stunning scenery at every turn makes this an extra special sailing area. Apart from the location, the rich ancient history in Epidavros, Poros, Aegina and Methana attracts many sailors and tourists alike to these beautiful waters.

Make sure you don’t miss a trip ashore to the ancient amphitheatre dating back to the 6th century BC. The acoustics here are legendary and it’s said that a coin dropped in the orchestra can be clearly heard in the top row seats 22 meters away!

From our base you can enjoy sailing to delightful costal villages such as Peredika. A very beautiful and picturesque town, popular with visitors and locals alike, the harbour comes alive with the hustle and bustle of daily life – a great spot to relax on the deck on your yacht and watch the world go by.

Poros itself is a cosmopolitan island with a host of dockside cafes and tavernas. As you approach the town you’ll sail through the narrow channel that separates the island from the mainland. At it narrowest this is only 300 metre wide and locals regularly talk of a time when you could walk across. Although we don’t recommend you try it today!

Due to the huge variety of airlines that offer flights into Athens we have made our Poros Base boat only. This gives you the flexibility to head straight to our base or spend a few days ashore exploring the historical cities of Greece before heading off on your yacht charter on the Saturday.
