Canary Islands Yacht Racing

We are delighted to announce the launch of Sunsail Racing’s NEW WINTER RACE PROGRAMME, based in the Canary Islands for winter 2011/12, the programme will offer a mix of high adrenalin racing and relaxed cruising, including two 3 leg long distance regattas, a series of In Port Racing, Pro Am Regattas and Cruising Rallies.

From 22nd October 2011 to the 10th March 2012 a fleet of the New Sunsail F40’s, will race down to the Canary Islands and back. During their time in the Canaries they will be based in Marina Rubicon in Lanzarote, which has a range of restaurants and bars close by, and all the amenities and facilities you will need. From here they will compete in a series of regattas, races and rallies, offering the ultimate yacht racing and sailing experience.
 
Experienced and novice sailors alike can take part in any of these events, as part of a skippered boat or a bareboat charter. However this is a level 3 sailing area and we can guarantee that there will be plenty of exciting sailing, so this is not for the faint hearted, but those looking for a thrill!

  • Sunsail Winter Race Series - Action packed fun!

    An action packed week of racing in the Canaries, offering a mix of In Port Racing and 2 legs to Fueratventura and back. The winter racing series offers the chance to sail in the stunning Lanzarote and Fuerteventura cruising areas, with a mix of sailing conditions.

  • Cruising Rally - Canaries Discovery

    What better way to experience the Canary Islands than cruising in company from Island to Island. The Cruising Rally takes in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerife over a two week period, and includes four free sailing days giving you the chance to explore the islands on land or water.

  • Chase the Sun Regatta - Experience the thrill

    If you’re looking to build your sailing miles and get some ocean sailing experience under your belt, all with a bit of competition, then this is the perfect event for you. Join 15+ other Sunsail F40’s (including a lead and committee boat) as they chase the sun and race down to the Canaries, over a series of three legs.
    • Overall winner will win a vacation for each member of crew
