General Conditions

During the dry season from May to October, there are good south-westerly winds and the sailing can be exciting. Despite the occasional tropical shower, the sailing area remains mainly sheltered. 

The tidal range is between 3 – 7 feet (1 – 2 meters). Skippers need to take care not to damage the reefs of live coral when dropping anchor in the near crystal clear waters.

An anchorage off one of the pristine islands of the Ang Thong National Park, with their towering Jurassic peaks and shallow emerald green water, is one of the highlights of a Koh Samui yacht charter, suitable for sailors with a reasonable level of previous experience.
