General Conditions

Sunsail’s sailing area in Turkey is vast and boasts ideal sailing conditions for a bareboat yacht charter.  Steady north-westerly winds range from 10 - 20 knots (11 – 23 mph) and there are cool sea breezes in the afternoons which die away at night.

The thermal Meltemi winds blow from May to October and can be particularly strong in July and August, making this location a suitable for more experienced and confident sailors. With blue skies, consistent warm weather and perfect sailing conditions, Turkey is the perfect destination for a sailing vacation. During the cruising season, water temperatures average 71 F (22 C).
