Tropea Bareboat Yacht Charter

Sailing Conditions

General Conditions

An Italian bareboat sailing vacation from Tropea, offers the perfect climate with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Winds are generally north-westerly averaging 8 to 12 knots (8 -13 mph), with warm sea breezes which are strongest during July and August.

During the cruising season of April to October, the skies are blue and the weather warm, with water temperatures averaging 71 F (22 C).  The tidal range is small, only 1 - 2 feet (30 - 60 cm), and a sailing vacation here provides ample opportunity for line-of-sight sailing in sheltered waters.

Temperatures between the coast and further inland, where it is much colder, vary considerably due to the altitude of the high volcanoes.
