Sunsail and Croatia, a perfect marriage!

Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail?

As a relatively inexperienced day skipper i was hugely impressed with the quality of support from the flotilla lead boat crew, especially Sue Enright. The morning briefings were very comprehensive and thorough, excellent anchorages were recommended for lunch time siestas/swims, the support in berthing each night was helpful and reassuring and the evening venues and social events were superb. The yachts were in excellent condition, most were very young (0-3 years old) and well equipped. We were encouraged to mix with the rest of the flotilla and have as a result built some long lasting friendships.

Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht?

It's age. It was new!

Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?

I would recommend a final land based tour of Split on the last day - fabulous. I would also recommend if guests take an early or late trip they should include waterproofs in their luggage :)

Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen?

We loved the Croatian towns and cities we visited - Trogir, Hvar and Split were fantastic, some of the most beautiful i have ever visited. The previous year were chartered north from Dubrovnik and that was equally fabulous and thoroughly recommended. The cocktail evening was great too as it gave us the opportunity to informally mix and meet new friends. We were an all girl crew which is quite unusual. We return year after year to the Ionian for the best holiday experience with the excellent Sunsail Flotillas

Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail?

Our first bareboat experience after several excellent flotilla holidays with sunsail was a little dissapointing as we experienced several technical difficulties with the 32i sunsail yacht. We missed the support and help from a lead crew.

Is there anything else you would like to share?

We returned this year to flotilla holiday with sunsail which was excellent another brilliant holiday in the amazing Ionian.

Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht?

We had a 37 ft beneateau sunsail yacht which was amazing and fun to sail, clean and well maintained.

Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?

The support and friendship gained from a flotilla makes the holiday a great experience in the most friendly and beautiful area for sailing

Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen?

All the ports visited have there own charm and are a pleasure to visit time after time

A safe but interesting sailing ground

Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail?

We had a great time sailing bareboat from Vounaki. The sailing is not too demanding but very interesting with plenty of typically Greek islands to visit. It is a very safe area to sail. The wonderful people and the food also add to the experience.

Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht?

The layout of our yacht was very impressive with the biggest bathroom we have ever had before.

Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?

Don't forget to take waterproofs in case of adverse weather.

Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen?

The highlight was swimming from the boat while on anchor in Abelike Bay, Meganissi. The water was crystal clear, sun shining and very peaceful, that is what memories are made of.

Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail?

Used Sunsail for many years, and from the quote to the wave as you leave the base, you always have the feeling everyone knows what they are doing, and care about you.

Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht?

Modern yachts, well equipped, and autopilot lets the skipper relax for a while, and join in with the crew, still keeping a watchful eye all round of course.

Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?

Depends what you want. For the "high life", Nidri, Sivota, Vassiliki, Fiskardo. For peace and tranqillity, Kalamos, Kastos, and Ithica.

Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen?

Kioni, an absolute gem of a place, even with 3/4 flotillas in residence, catch it weekend it must be perfect. Kastos town is for peace and quiet at the moment, but catch it before the developers get too far.. The lagoon opp Vikhon nr Nidri, by the tavernas, anchor 50 mtrs off, perfect.

Lovely sailing holiday, which was "a holiday" as very impressed with our yacht and sunsail staff.

Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail?

We are experienced sailors, but it was nice to have an easy area to chill out . Excellant boat in good clean condition, dealt with efficiently by Sunsail staff. We had one small maintenance problem which was handled very well. Having sailed my own boat for many years, I was very pleased with the charter experience.

Is there anything else you would like to share?

We felt the handover and waiting for paperwork rather lengthy but at the other end, enjoyed our day at the base - a nice wind down.

Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht?

Pretty good performance .

Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?

Go south early in your week if you like to be independant from all the flotilla's. Laze in the morning and make the most of the wind from about noon. Turn your motor off and sail!

Always lovely to anchor peacefully.
