The seas of the Gulf of Volos tend to be sheltered, with winds ranging from 10 – 20 knots (11 – 23 mph), but in July and August the winds of the Meltemi from the North East can be strong, making a bareboat yacht charter from Milina suitable for reasonably experienced sailors.

Summer weather is generally sunny and warm, with temperatures averaging between 75 – 80 F (24 and 27 C), but early and late in the season there can be showers and occasional squalls.
