Sailing Conditions

General Conditions

From May to October there are clear skies and south-easterly winds. These drop in November, giving way to winds from the north-west bringing heavy rain clouds. The south-easterly wind pattern returns in April.

Between these times there are short periods of flat calms and light winds. April and May are the sunniest months but also the months of heaviest rainfall average 5 ½ hours of sunshine a day. Humidity is a constant 80%.

The monsoon climate produces currents of up to four knots. Numerous coral reefs make for challenging sailing conditions and make a Seychelles bareboat yacht charter best suited to experienced sailors.
