I had very high expectations and they were surpassed

Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail?

Absolutely brilliant. The sailing is fantastic. The boats are great. The cocktails are cold.

Is there anything else you would like to share?

There is always a bar and restaurant in which ever bay you moor in. But you can stay onboard if you wish.

Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht?

The accomodation on the Lagoon 410 is fantastic. It is like having two 40ft yachts bolted together by a party area!

Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?

Don't miss out on the Anagarda reef snorkelling

Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen?

Anagarda reef snorelling and lobster supper. The one palm island off Jost Van Dyke.

A true sail in the sun experience

Sunsail pay attention to detail and look after you really well. The yacht was top of the range. It was smooth sailing all the way. Thank-you

Poem compiled by Anne for the Cocktail Competition, Abelike Bay, Ionian Sea, Vounaki Flotilla 2008. Nelson the cock peeped out of his hutch on a bright and sunny day, The watertight seal had worked a treat, as his hutch sailed underway. The Ionian Sea, his holiday spot, was looming into view, He summoned his clutch of mottley hens and instructed them what to do. Nelson spied a boat up ahead, her sails were set just right, On board was a beautiful speckled hen, It was love at very first sight! Ship Ahoy...Nelson did hail, That hen I love so much, Sail alongside, I'll jump onboard, and gather her into my clutch. The red speckled hen had big brown eyes, and the most spectacular wattle, She fluttered her feathers, and from under her wing, pulled out a big brown bottle. Inside the bottle, a message unfurled, that Nelson pondered some time, It read "i've sailed the Ionian sea in search of a love to be mine"... "oh, Nelson you are the cock of my dreams, and have a magnificent tail! So, marry me please and drink to our love..and into the SUN we shall SAIL. Nelson married the red speckled hen and happily forever they roamed, A brood of handsome chicks followed on that were always beautifully combed. Nelson recounts his tales of Greece, over land and sea and vale He tells about finding the love of his life.. A wonderful true COCKTAiL!

Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht?

Everything worked well, she was spacious and comfortable. Sat Nav was a welcome extra. She sailed well and was easy to manoeuvre. We liked the BBQ on the stern!

Don't miss the Baths, it's excellent! Snorkel above the wreck Provisioning is expensive in the BVI's so plan for that

Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen?

Every day there was a different experience, lots to see. The Baths at Virgin Gourda was awesome, a must to go snorkelling and walk through the boulders. In the second week we sailed to Anegada which was wonderful, her highest point only 9 metres above sea level, she shimmered into view after an exhilerating sail!

Outstanding sailing and iced ''painkillers'' to help watch the sun go down over another perfect beach - there's nothing finer

Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail?

Extremely helpful shore crews and well maintained yachts. Good local knowledge really helps too.

Taking a guided run over to Anegeda is well worth the day - again helped along by friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic Sunsail support when you need it.

Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht?

We bumped the yacht up to Premier and it felt - and probably was - fresh off the line. Absolutely pristine and a pleasure to sail, especially when the heat means your energy levels are low!

Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?

Don't be put off by tales of heavier weather in late August or by the quieter end of summer period meaning there may be fewer restaurants open. This is an all year destination - take it easy and slow, and soak up the sun, sand and sundowners.

Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen?

This was our second sail in the BVI and snorkelling at the Rocks was a treat both times. Ordering a whole lobster the size of a fender in Anegada after a long and satisfying sail up there was just outstanding - and you're anchoring in water so shallow you could almost walk to the restaurant! Lovely.

How about one word...Magnificent!

Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail?

We Sailed out of Tortola on two Cat's for 8 nights, the first being a stay aboard before we set out. The staff was most helpful and very pleasant to deal with. We had a technical problem with the airconditioning on one of the yachts after we left. We tried to rectify it over the phone by simply reseting the system with switch selections on the breaker pannel. When that didn't work Sunsail dispatched a maintenance person to us and we were back in business about 3 hours later.

This was my second charter to the BVI's of many I hope. I must say that the briefings I recieved with the previous charter company was much better. Both the chart brief and more importantly the briefing on the boat. The last company I chartered with not only had a book on the boats systems and things to watch out for, but also gave a very good briefing on the systems as well. My boat brief was almost just a checklist for you to agree that everything was on board that was supposed to be.

Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht?

It was new so I would have to say that new boat smell !!!

Stay as long as you can!

Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen?

The full moon party, at the Bomba Shack just south of Cane Garden Bay. Sitting on the beach with the sun setting at White Bay, Jost Van Dyke. Snorkelling on the Wreck at Salt Island and by the baths at Virgin Gorda.

There is no better way to spend two weeks during the English winter!

Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail?

We had two weeks of great sailing, great company pretty good weather and far far too much rum!!

Is there anything else you would like to share?

Watch out for strong liquor! We lost a whole day to rum. Admittedly the weather that day was pretty dire but I don't think there is any excuse for the amount that was consumed or the time we all went to bed (5 pm!)

Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht?

It was in pretty good nick and sailed well. There was ample room for 4 people although the fore cabin lacked a bit of length for my husband (6 ft plus)

Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?

Watch out for the sand flies on Anegada. Also the lobster there is not all it's cracked up to be.

Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen?

Frolicking in the bubbling pool on Little Jost van Dyke. Great fun, we enjoyed it so much we went back. Swimming in the caverns of the baths on Virgin Gorda , would have liked to have done this again. Swimming from the boat to the beach at White Bay on jost van Dyke didn't think i had it in me! Being escorted by dolphins on our sail into White Bay. The aforementioned lost rum day!
