Ladies Only Week

Today, the fairer sex are far from fair weather sailors! Ellen MacArthur, Shirley Robertson and Tracey Edwards are household names who have achieved celebrity status and gained the respect of millions around the world.

As a sailing school organization, Sunsail has seen the number of female students rocket in recent years. From Competent Crew to Yachtmaster, groups of girls are getting out on the water and getting qualified to sail and see the world’s most beautiful destinations by boat, by themselves or by taking their friends and families along on board.

Many of our RYA instructors at head office and Skippers around the world are women who have successfully sailed their way up through the RYA syllabus, some from childhood others starting from scratch and becoming hooked on this exhilarating sport.

The Ladies Only Weeks we offer in the UK are extremely popular. As well as being something a little out of the ordinary and a fresh-air fun experience, it’s a chance to meet new girlfriends or take time out with a group of your own friends and have a whole boat to yourselves. This is a chance for the girls to gain their RYA Competent Crew and/or Day Skipper over five days in the company of other women*.

Sailing can be relaxing or exciting but it is always FUN!
