Diesel Engine Course
This course is split into theory and practical sections. Designed to cover all aspects of engine maintenance and repair, it's ideal for boat owners or those looking to purchase their first yacht.
Theory Introduction to the diesel engine including four stroke cycle, fuel system, air systems, turbocharging, cooling systems, engine lubrication, electrical systems, spares and tools and winterisation and servicing.
Practical Name the parts of the engine, trace fuel / air system, identify / strip filters, bleed system, check for water, ingress, air leaks, identify – air filters, breathers, impellers, sea strainers, seacocks and thermostat. Change filters, drain oil, check for leaks and servicing. Identify – starter motor, fuses, alternator, warning beepers, temperature and fuel gauges. Practical work on engine and fault finding.
