Level 3 Sailing Courses are intended for experienced intermediate sailors who are ready to develop their theoretical and practical sailing and navigation skills to an advanced level.

The RYA Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Theory Courses are designed to develop a knowledge and understanding of navigation and other theory and are the next step on from the Day Skipper Course. These courses are the ideal precursor to the full RYA Coastal Skipper Practical course or any of the Yachtmaster tiers.
A continuation of your sailing journey, this practical course covers all the basics required to skipper a yacht further a field, once completed you will be confident in offshore sailing and night sailing.
The RYA Yachtmaster Coastal Preparation Course and Exam are suitable for students who have completed the theory and practical elements of the Coastal Skipper courses. The course provides final preparation for the exam that will qualify you as an experienced and advanced skipper, holding the RYA Yachtmaster Coastal Certificate.
Having passed the Yachtmaster Coastal Exam, students taking the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Preparation Course and passing the final Offshore Exam will obtain a qualification that enables them to sail a yacht almost anywhere in the world safely and with confidence and work commercially as a skipper.
Over 7 days, this course builds on the material learned in 101, and comprises the navigation portion of the skills required to bareboat cruise. You will be taught to cruise safely as both skipper and crew on an auxiliary sailboat of 30-50 feet in coastal waters. You will learn the full spectrum of the details involved in chartering, including routine maintenance, sailing a compass course and planning provisioning.
An advanced cruising standard for individuals with cruising experience. The individual can act as skipper and crew of a 30-50 foot multihull sailboat by day in coastal waters. The standard includes those skills unique to a 30-50 foot multihull.
