Sunsail clients have two options to cover themselves for accidental damage or loss. Please note neither the Yacht Damage Waiver nor the Security Deposit cover any acts of gross negligence, such as damage occurred while sailing outside the defined sailing area and hours, sailing under the influence of alcohol or drugs, running aground or taking the yacht single handed as stated in the Sunsail Booking Conditions 'Customer Behavior' Section.
The Yacht Damage Waiver is calculated on a per day basis and is dependent on the size of yacht which you are chartering
All bookings will automatically be priced to include the Yacht Damage Waiver option at the point of sale and on the booking confirmation. This payment is required to cover the possibility of damage to the yacht, or damage to or loss of ancillary equipment or damage caused by a third party. The Excess of $750 or $3000 will be taken at the yacht base upon arrival as part of the embarkation process, depending on the option selectd. If damage occurs to a value lower than the excess you will be refunded the amount less the cost of repair. If the damage incurred exceeds the excess, the payment will not be refunded and you will not be required to pay any additional costs upon disembarkation.
|Price Per Day|
|Choice||up to 35 ft||36-43 ft||44 ft+ including Cats||Refundable Excess||Maximum Liability|
Option 1 - Automatically included on your invoice, payable with your final balance. Should you wish to change this to option 2 or 3, you must notify us in writing before payment of your final invoice.
Option 1 & 2 - The refundable excess deposit will be left in equivalent currency at the base to cover the excess for any damage incurred to the yacht, or damage to or loss of ancillary equipment. If damage occurs to a value lower than your refundable excess, you will be refunded your deposit less the cost of repair. If the damage incurred exceeds your refundable excess, your deposit will not be refunded and you will not be required to pay any additional costs.
Where you are racing the yacht in an organized regatta or event, whether it is with Sunsail or any other organization, a refundable Security Deposit will be taken at the base. It is not an option to cover the yacht and ancilliary equipment under the Yacht Damage Waiver (Option 1 & 2) while the yacht is under racing rules. If you wish to cover the boat under the Yacht Damage Waiver at all other times during your charter, including getting to and from the race, then you can do so under the Yacht Damage Waiver scheme. This will limit your liability to $750 during this period with any damage or loss occurring during the race being taken out of the Security Deposit.
