Turkey | Greece Flotilla Sailing Vacation

Overview

Set sail from Sunsail’s base in Turgutreis, near historic Bodrum, on a sociable two-country flotilla vacation that takes a route around the Dodecanese Islands, visiting both Turkey and Greece.

Starting off on the coast of mainland Turkey, this flotilla stops at picturesque fishing villages with casual restaurants serving the freshest of local fish and allows you to drop anchor at secluded inlets that are perfect for an afternoon’s relaxation.

There are Byzantine forts and natural hot water pools to explore before you head for the Greek islands of Kos, Nisiros, Tilo and Simi – by turn bustling, volcanic, historic and elegant.

Sailing on a Two-Country Flotilla

The two-country flotilla vacation visiting Turkey and Greece is best suited to more advanced sailors who will enjoy the superb sailing conditions prevailing in the sailing area.

Navigation is mainly line-of-sight with some longer passages of over 30 miles. In summer, temperatures can reach 90 F (32 C), making the cooling sea breezes most welcome.

Winds are north-westerly and generally stronger in the afternoons, in the range of 10 to 25 knots (11 - 29 mph), dying down at night.  It is windiest in July and August.

What's included ?
