The Start Of The Adventures
Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail?Another fantastic Sunsail experience.
Is there anything else you would like to share?Details of our first flotilla in the year when it all started - 1974. (See attached)
Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht?Great performance and so easy to manage. Interesting to compare with the boat on our first flotilla in 1974 which was 24'6"" long and had no navigational or other aids whatsoever.
Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?Don't forget to do your research on the places you are going to visit.
Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen?Having a day off the boat and taking a trip to the Lycean tombs, then seeing these on TV on Francesco's Mediterranean Voyage with the same boat and captain as we had been with, taking Francesco to see the same thing. The stay on Symi was so nice we have thought about going there for a holiday!

Our 2 weeks were very memorable as we had great fun and met lovely people but 2 weeks is not long enough.

Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht? It was our yacht for 2 weeks without paying a fortune.
Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?Make sure you get cash, fuel and water when available as some overnight moorings do not have these facilities.

From tiny bays to sophisticated yacht clubs and deep anchorages to lazy lines all weathers all good fun!
Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail? When we arrived we were surprised that we were one of only two yachts on the flotilla. We need not have worried. We got to know our fellow sailors - three men in a boat - they were great fun and the small number of yachts did not detract from the fun. We enjoyed their company and got to know them well. Always there to provide support, advice and a good sense of humour. The lead crew were excellent and dealt with our very dodgy engine very professionally.
Is there anything else you would like to share?Only down side - I think the Base at Orhaniye is very basic and having been there before I feel I'm getting ripped off when I provision. Also I am constantly being told that 'tips are not included' so much so that I do not leave a tip! Also re-fueling is a joke. Surely some diesel can be organised at the base? Room for improvement when compared to somewhere like Vounaki.
Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht?Great yacht, shame about the engine - but after valiant attempts to fix it the engineer finally came up trumps and we didn't mind having him on board as he was such a nice bloke.
Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?Make sure you remember to change your Greek and Turkish flags carefully - easy to let them blow away. (Actually, I would prefer the holiday without the Greek bit, now that we've done it once and it would be good if there was this option. The Turkish destinations are so varied and the Turks are so friendly and helpful.)
Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen?Go to Bob's Bay - it is tucked away behind some sheltering cliffs and he rows (yes rows!) out to meet you and helps you anchor and tie up. We went to the taverna by dinghy and had supper at the only Taverna (Bob's, of course). Moonlight, a friendly dog (Bob's hound complete with fleas) congenial sailors - magic! The Yacht Club at Ciftlik serves amazingly good food - and the huge cushions on the beach are just what's needed after a hard day's sailing - try them and you won't want to move. Best showers ever at Bozburun.
