General Conditions

The sheltered sailing area of the Gocek flotilla along Turkey’s Lycian Coast boasts ideal sailing conditions. Mornings are generally calm.  Steady west south-westerly winds range from 10 - 20 knots and there are cool sea breezes in the afternoons which die away at night.

The thermal Meltemi winds blow from May to October and are strongest in July and August.

With blue skies and consistent warm weather, a Gocek sailing charter is ideal for novices to flotilla sailing and for those looking for a laid-back flotilla vacation.

During the cruising season, water temperatures average 72 F (22 C).
