Overview

A Dorian flotilla vacation is an opportunity to cruise the warm, clear waters of the gulf of Hisaronu on a family-friendly flotilla, ideally suited for those with some previous sailing experience.

Starting off from charming, unspoiled Orhaniye you will visit the aptly-named Paradise Bay for snorkeling, while you admire the traditional gulets moored at Bozburun and then eat in one of the village’s charming tavernas and generally chill out, relax and enjoy the gentle pace of life aboard as you marvel at the stunning natural beauty of the coastline.

This flotilla is particularly family orientated in July and August when an Activity Coordinator is added to the lead crew.

Sailing the Dorian Flotilla

Dorian flotilla sailing offers relaxed mornings with little wind – ideal for hanging out in a picturesque bay and taking in some swimming and snorkeling – and breezy afternoons which promise some exciting sailing. 

Summer temperatures average 86 F (30 C).  Winds are generally north-westerly, ranging from 10 – 20 knots (11 - 23mph), and are stronger in the afternoons, dropping to complete stillness at night.

Navigation is line-of-sight and distances between stops are short.

Lazy lines are in use at most town and village quays making it easy to moor up.

    Set sail on an Orhaniye boat charter from the charming village of Orhaniye, nestled on the shores of the bay of Keci Buku. Before heading back to Orhaniye for dinner at one of the village’s excellent restaurants, take a walk to the village of Hisaronu and explore the remains of the ancient acropolis located there. Alternatively, stop nearby at Marmaris for lively nightlife and great shopping.
