Fantastic dedicated flotilla staff made this a sailing holiday to remember
Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail?Although the stormy weather kept us in port for the first day, and limited the sailing on some days, the hard-work and dedication of the flotilla leader, hostess and engineer meant that we had a wonderful week's sail, were helped into port safely each afternoon and had plenty of fun and games with other crews.
Is there anything else you would like to share? For those who prefer to be more independent there was no pressure to join in the organised activities.
Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht?Emerald was small enough for 2 relatively inexperienced people to handle easily, large enough to have plenty of space.
Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?Pre-order your provisions for a hassle-free start to the holiday.
Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen? What I will always remember is my first day as skipper, succesfully goose-winging the boat through the channel between Meganissi and the mainland on the way to Sivota. Followed closely by winning the cocktail competition with our 'Emerald Minesweeper' on the last night.

Great value, great company, brilliant fun.
Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail? Two of us took up a special October offer of £550 per head for a one week Ionian flotilla, any boat any number of people. The boat was fantastic compared to what I had sailed fifteen years earlier. It had GPS, autopilot, boat speed, wind speed and direction, hot shower, fridge, electric anchor winch, mainsail reefing from the cockpit; utter luxury. The flotilla staff were friendly, attentive and thoroughly competent. The itinerary took us to magical places and great tavernas. We made several good friends with whom we are still in touch.
Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht? Our yacht was new that season. Compared to previous experience the biggest improvement was the anchor winch.

Freedom!
Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail?Resort was OK - disappointing food and quite basic accommodation - but the sailing was excellent!
Is there anything else you would like to share?Great staff
Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht?Well-equipped and great to sail. Liked the autopilot!!
Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?Didn't need the outboard motor - the brochure didn't make it clear that ,since the rubber boat has oars, no outboard is needed - that is unless you need Formula 1 performance out of it!
Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen?Being able to anchor in a deserted bay and enjoy lunch, swim and snooze! Sailing with a turtle beside us.

Great time had by all!!!
Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail? We had a great 2 weeks spent in Vounaki Greece. The first week was half board accomodation just lounging about and eating the great food provided!! Afternoon tea and cakes were gratefully received by all four of us. Many thanks to Dimitra the "omelette lady" - her breakfasts are lovely. The accomodation was most comfortable and spacious (although we did have a squatter in the shape of a huge centipede that we named Colin!!) The 2nd week was spent aboard our yacht SEA NUT. This was definitely an experience for all of us as it was our furst time!. Everything was great. The flotilla staff were excellent and made sure that we had a fabulous time. Many thanks to Caio. Adam and Nicky. We hope that they made use of the giant water pistols that we left for them (hopefully they used the pistols instead of the water bombs!!!) Great!! All the Sunsail staff are excellent - couldn't be faulted!
Is there anything else you would like to share? All the evening entertainment whilst we were with the flotilla was very well organised.
Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht? The overall experience and sense of freedom. Except for the terrible gale that was blowing when we were returning to base on the last day!!!
Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?Make use of all the facilities!! Don't miss out on the tea and cakes. Visit the nearby town.
Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen?Lazing by the pool-incredible views - pirate night on the flotilla.

Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht?nice modern and spacious
Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?get on and book, it's easy
Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen?Free sailing

Beautiful scenery, blue sky and bath temperature sea, many little bays to explore and good food. What more could anyone want
Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail? The location is fantastic. Safe sailing apart from some days when we had fierce down draughts from the mountains. The only slight niggle we had was the wish of the team leader that we take part in some rather juvenile games at the beach party and for the final supper. Once or twice we felt the team were struggling to cope with various boat handling errors by other customers in the fleet. We elected to moor at different locations away from the rest of the fleet and the team were ok with us about that.
Is there anything else you would like to share?A very happy relaxing holiday overall
Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht? We were a crew of three and we chose a bigger boat this year with 3 separate cabins which worked well and the bigger boat handled better
Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?Look at Kalamos which is wonderful and unspoiled. Visit the abandoned village there [Port Leone]. Take plenty of suncream. Make sure you ask for an outboard on your dinghy tender unless you like rowing!
Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen?Kalamos and also visiting the tiny little bay on the south of Itahaca.

Great fun!
Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail? This was our fifth Sunsail holiday but my husband's first time skippering. We also took two friends who had never sailed a yacht before although one of them had dinghy sailing experience. As we would class ourselves still fairly novice sailors, we picked the Vounaki flotilla which is level 0 and were glad we did since the sailing is very easy line of sight with light winds (6 - 10 knots average but two days there was no wind at all!) - perhaps too light for those wanting a bit more excitement but we were happy pootling. The flotilla lead boat crew were absolutely fantastic and made berthing a breeze, even in busy harbours. They set us fun competitions and arranged group meals and a beach BBQ which were all really enjoyable and allowed you to meet and socialise with the other people on the flottilla. It was all very relaxed and friendly and we can't wait for next year to book another one!
Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht? It was brand new! A beautiful 42' with a HUGE cockpit.
Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?Maybe add a few days after the flotilla so that you can use the Vounaki Club facilities which looked fun. Don't bother with an outboard motor - oars are sufficient for the tender although we did use it once to get to some caves where you could snorkel (around the coast a little from Fiscardo harbour on Kefalonia).
Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen? We loved the beach BBQ but unfortunately I can't remember where that was (too much Ouzo?)! The last night group meal back in Vounaki was also entertaining where prizes were given for the various competitions!!

Really enjoyable experience
Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail? It was our very first flotilla so it was good to be in safe hands. The staff were both very friendly and professional in their approach. They work extremely hard with hardly any time off to themselves during the flotilla. In the space of a week we learned so much from having to do everything ourselves (just the two of us on board) and just through being in contact with the very knowledgeable staff. You could socialise with others and at other times be on your own (there were a few organised meals and barbecues) so the balance was perfect.
Is there anything else you would like to share?Unfortunately on the first night we did not get any sleep in Vounaki Marina as we were surrounded by hordes of students who had just finished their exams and were playing music and partying till 3am. We spoke to the Skipper and Manager and they very professionally helped ensure that they were spoken to for their inconsiderate behaviour and that their Sunsail itinerary and ours would not clash for the next week. But I really think that if Sunsail are to offer flotillas to students after exams they need to put them in a separate part of the Marina. If I want that sort of experience I can go to Benidorm!
Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht?Very modern state of the art yacht. If anything was not working it was very quickly sorted out by the very fine engineer.
Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination? The Ionian is a busy yachting area but its sheltered nature (practically an inland sea!) means it is perfect for those on first time flotilla.
Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen? The highlight was getting my £300 back not having caused any damage!
