Overview

Milina is Sunsail’s base for the region of Greece known as the Sporades. It is an pretty village located within the beautiful Gulf of Volos.

The Pelagos and Trikeri flotilla vacations run the same route on alternate weeks throughout the season and explore the very best of what the Sporades have to offer, taking in the most remote, easterly islands of the archipelago.

The Sporades offer stunning blue water bays, playful dolphins and an abundance of excellent Greek tavernas.

Pelagos and Trikeri flotilla sailing is suitable for those confident in their yachting skills who will enjoy the opportunity to ‘go it alone’ on free sailing days.

Sailing in Pelagos and Trikeri

The seas of the Gulf of Volos tend to be sheltered with more challenging conditions as you head out towards the islands.

Winds range from 10 – 20 knots (11 - 23 mph), but when the Meltemi is blowing from the north-east during the summer months it can be stronger, making Pelagos and Trikeri flotilla sailing suitable for experienced sailors who will enjoy the challenge of solo exploration. 

There are a good variety of short and long hops, with line-of-sight navigation throughout. Summer weather is generally sunny and warm, with temperatures averaging 86 F (30 C).

  • Patitiri Alonissos

    There’s an air of boho-chic about Alonissos, which is home to a few galleries and alternative therapists. The island is popular with walkers because of a network of trails that criss-cross the island... they range from  gentle to more challenging.   • Pegadi

    One of the delights of a Pegadi boat charter is the ability to pause for a while, admiring the charming and unspoilt village along the shores of the beautiful gulf of Volos. After a walk up the hill to the lookout tower of Achilles, who is said to have embarked on his journey to Troy from here, enjoy a delicious meal and a wine at one of the excellent tavernas on the harbour.
