Paxos Flotilla Sailing Vacation

Overview

A two-week Paxos flotilla vacation makes the most of the incredible Ionian sailing area, exploring as far north as the islands of Corfu and Paxos, and is ideally suited to confident sailors with a good amount of previous sailing experience.

A fortnight allows plenty of time for dinners in traditional restaurants, for peaceful nights under anchor and for livelier ones at some of Corfu’s famous all-night clubs.

Some of the highlights to be enjoyed on a Paxos flotilla vacation are the salt lagoon at Levkas,  a visit to old Corfu town, the Venetian castle on Parga, Byzantine churches and the Museum of Asian Arts on Mandraki.

Paxos Flotilla Highlights

A two-week Paxos sailing flotilla is best suited to the more experienced sailors. Paxos flotilla vacations offer the opportunity to explore the incredible Ionian sailing area and get a taste of the true Greece.

  • Gaios Paxos

Gaios is the main port of Paxos, built around the natural harbor, and is where all the action happens – in summer it gets pretty busy with ferries and day-tripper boats. It’s an attractive town with picturesque 19th century buildings, ideal to stop in for a drink or a meal but if you prefer somewhere quieter, consider anchoring your yacht at the more traditional fishing village of Logos.

  • Lakka Paxos

The island of Paxos is known for its verdant unspoiled landscape and olive oil of superior quality and a Lakka Paxos boat charter will give you an opportunity to stock up on a few bottles to bring home. Lakka itself is a large bay on the north coast of the island that is popular with visiting yacht charterers and and windsurfers. The bustling quayside has plenty of good tavernas.

  • Levkas Town

Levkas Town is about as busy as it gets in these parts and a visit here will satisfy those members of your crew anxious for a little retail therapy. Aside from the shopping and a decent range of bars and restaurants, a Levkas Town boat charter allows you to explore the 13th century Santa Maura fort and perhaps take in some of the cultural events that take place here in high season.

  • Mandraki Corfu

A favorite stop for yacht charters is historic Corfu Town on Corfu, part of the Ionian islands. The atmospheric narrow alleys of Corfu Town are filled with beautiful architecture while there are museums, forts, churches and a palace to visit for the culturally minded. Corfu Town has all the shopping and restaurant action that you could hope for, not forgetting nightlife that’ll keep you out until dawn and beyond.
