The Kefalonia Flotilla will also visit the town of Spartahori on Meganissi, perched high above Spilia Bay, which offers an unbeatable view across mainland Greece. • Fiscardo Kefalonia

A must-do stop on your sailing vacation, the stunning mountainous landscape of Kefalonia (also spelt Cephalonia) was the backdrop to the movie of ‘Captain Corelli’s Mandolin’. Fiscardo on the island’s north-eastern coast has since become fashionable, attracting a sophisticated crowd which likes to be seen in all the right places. The pretty harbor is surrounded by shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants and there is lively nightlife on hand. There are lovely coves to explore nearby.

  • Sivota Mourtos

A Sivota Mourtos boat charter allows you to explore the three rugged Sivota islands that are situated opposite the village of Mourtos on the mainland coast and are much favored by sailors familiar with his part of the world as an ideal place to spend a few days chilling out. There’s more nightlife action to be had at Sand-bar Bay and the water park at Monastery Bay is a must for anyone traveling with children.

  • Spartahori Meganissi

The memory of your visit to the village of Spartahori is one that will stay with you long after you have returned home from your Meganissi yacht charter. Moor by the beach and climb up the hill to a village that looks as if it hasn’t changed in a hundred years. Eat either in the village or at one of the tavernas by the beach – the food is excellent in both.

  • Vounaki

Just south of the town of Paleros and at the base of the oregano and wild thyme covered Arkanika Mountains, you'll find Sunsail's southern Ionian base at Vounaki. The marina occupies the same site as Sunsail’s Vounaki beach club. Paleros is a pleasant small town with a good few tavernas serving locally caught seafood and other Greek specialities.
