During the summer season, winds are generally north-westerly, in the range of 10 to 15 knots, and there are gentle morning breezes from the south. Summer temperatures range from 73 – 91F (23 – 33 C).

Sail to the north of the island to investigate the protected anchorages along the coastline with its pristine turquoise waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling in tranquility.

  • Port Athene

    Port Athene lies on the north-eastern coast of Meganissi and is a fine place to moor for the night while exploring the coastline of this dreamy island. There’s a good taverna that has a reputation for excellent fresh fish but if you want more in the way of choice the village of Katomeri is a mile or so away. A Port Athene yacht charter is perfect for those who cherish the simple things in life.

  • Port Leone

    Port Leone lies on the southern coastline of Kalamos and was abandoned after the earthquake of 1953. The people never came back and the village, but locals still maintain the church and visit weekly to ensure that there is oil in the lamps and flowers in the vases. Moor your yacht and take a little while to absorb the unique atmosphere on your Port Leone boat charter.

  • Vounaki

    Just south of the town of Paleros and at the base of the oregano and wild thyme covered Arkanika Mountains, you'll find Sunsail's southern Ionian base at Vounaki. The marina occupies the same site as Sunsail’s Vounaki beach club. Paleros is a pleasant small town with a good few tavernas serving locally caught seafood and other Greek specialities.
