The waters of the Saronic Gulf offer ideal sailing conditions. Winds are consistent and steady, usually 5 – 20 knots (6 – 23 mph) which generally drop off in the evening.
Stronger Meltemi winds during July and August, make an Epidavros flotilla vacation most suitable for reasonably experienced sailors although this sailing area does not get as much wind as the Sporades to the east.
During the cruising season of April to October, the skies are blue and the weather warm, with water temperatures averaging 82 F (28 C). In midsummer, you can expect long evenings and spectacular sunsets.
The tidal range as with most of the Mediterranean is generally between 1 – 2 feet, making tidal currents practically non-existent.
