Sailing in Vis

Sunsail’s flotilla base is located on the island of Krapanj, near Sibenik, and boasts excellent facilities. Sailing here is best suited to those with reasonable previous sailing experience although navigation is easy with line-of-sight sailing.

Winds are light and variable in the mornings, with afternoon breezes and calm nights. Winds are generally south-easterly and range from 5 – 20 knots (6 - 23 mph). Summer temperatures range from 23° to 30° C (73° - 86° F) so not generally as hot as some of our Greek and Turkish locations.

Secluded anchorages are plentiful and at town quays lazy lines are usually employed, making mooring easy.
