A great experience

Is there anything else you would like to share?Boat was upgraded for us and was in excellent condition. There were some issues with Sunsail British crews not being allowed into Croatia at the beginning of the season. We ended up with a local skipper and lead crew who were very good.

Fantastic sailing area and flotilla.
Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail? We went on the Ruza flotilla sailing north from Dubrovnilk the second week in September. There were four of us and we all had an excellent holiday with Sunsail. The Croatian skipper and host ( think there have been problems for all operators when recruiting non locals) did a great job.
Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht? The yacht was in good working order- no problems at all. We decided to have a 38 ft 2 head yacht for two couples so had plenty of space and comfort.
Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination? The airport, although south of Dubrovnik and the marina , was very easy to get to and there are lots of flights from all parts of the UK. We were greeted by a private taxi and the transfer took just over 30 mins. We managed to get an evening flight back so spent the last day visiting Dubrovnik- not to be missed. The water was nice and warm in September. If possible avoid August - Italians flock to Croatia and moorings can be quite difficult to come by.
Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen? This is possibly one of the most interesting sailing areas we've been to. Miljet was idyllic- off the beaten track with a beautiful lake and hotel. Korcula was bustling with Venetian architecture and small cobbled streets - lots of shops and restaurants to choose from. Also some good long sails , good wind and no shortage of lunch stops!

A Sunsail Flotilla - An experience not to be passed over!
Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail? This was my first Sunsail experience and first sailig holiday. It was also a surprise holiday my wife who had no idea that she was going to spend the next seven days on a boat until she borded the transfer bus at Dubrovnik. The welcome was excellent and the introductory breakfast and briefings were all reassuring and positive despite the weather being a little dissapointing. The lead crew (hostess, skipper and engineer) all provided a highly professional and friiendly service ensuring a gentle integration with the crews of the flotilla as a whole. The itinary was well planned including departure and arrival from the ports, appropriate destinations with good reccommendations for restauraunts for individuals or groups. Some meals were organised as part of a social event and very successfull. The lead crew worked hard to ensure that the sailing and everything that it entailed was fun - just what a holiday should be. Sunsail have developed a robust process. Well done!
Is there anything else you would like to share? For my wife, (after getting over the shock of the yacht heeling over) there were no times that she felt unsafe. The organisation and infrastructure was all in place. As a result, my wife and I will be sailing with Sunsail next year for another adventure.
Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht? Our yacht was a 39ft Beneteau - it seemed quite new and in very good condition. For three people (and at a little more cost) it was quite spacious, and of course, reasonably fast. We managed over 8.5kts on one occasion. All winches, jammers and equipment were in good working order and if there was a problem it could be fixed very quickly by the engineer when in port.
Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?Sailing yachts are confined spaces so you cannot simply go for a walk to get some space when at sea! Choose a yacht that is not too cramped, especially if taking friends.
Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen?Sailing with my wife and son - a bonding holiday! Fresh winds on occasion proivided an added dimension with full sail. Tranquility and setting of ALL of the planned destinations The friendliness and organisation of entire week including the "Prize Giving"
