A Kornati flotilla vacation is an opportunity to explore a stunningly beautiful part of the Croatian coast and to have a truly relaxing sailing experience, one that will leave you refreshed and invigorated.
Created out of ‘tears, stars and breath’, according to George Bernard Shaw, the uninhabited Kornati Islands – an archipelago of one hundred and forty islands that have been declared a National Park - are an area of outstanding natural beauty, their olive groves, vineyards and orchards tended by neighboring islanders.
On a Kornati flotilla vacation you will spend a week of pure, peaceful sailing, cruising the crystal clear waters that surround the remote lunar landscape of the islands, stopping to swim, dive, snorkel or simply marvel at the beauty of it all.
Quaint fishing villages offer a choice of simple restaurants serving delicious Croatian food.
Sunsail’s new flotilla base, Marina Kremik, is located not far from the famous turistic town of Primošten, and boasts excellent facilities. Sailing here is best suited to those with reasonable previous sailing experience although navigation is easy with line-of-sight sailing.
Winds are light and variable in the mornings, with afternoon breezes and calm nights. Winds are generally south-easterly and range from 5 – 20 knots (6 - 23 mph). Summer temperatures range from 73 - 86 F (23 to 30 C) so not generally as hot as some of our Greek and Turkish locations.
Secluded anchorages are plentiful and at town quays lazy lines are usually employed, making mooring easy.
At Sunsail we don’t want you to worry about all the little details. That’s why we include so much in your Flotilla package.
