The location of the islands of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the Northeast trade belt means that they are blessed with almost perfect sailing weather all year round.
A St Vincent yacht charter incorporates both blue water sailing and sheltered island cruising. The winter months offer exciting and challenging sailing, the summer is more relaxed.
St Vincent and the Grenadines are considered low risk for hurricanes as it is at the southern end of the Carribean Island chain. The prevailing winds are north-easterly and range from 10 – 20 knots (11 - 23 mph) from June to October and 15 – 25 knots (17 - 29 mph) from November to May.
The tidal range is approximately 18 inches (45 cm). St. Vincent flotilla sailing is generally suitable for advanced sailors due to longer passages and stronger winds.
