Our favourite place in the world. Beats BVI hands down.
Overview - Give us a summary of your time with Sunsail?Sunsail are brilliant. This was our third trip to SVG . The base in SVG is getting a bit tatty now, but the staff are wonderful and take care of every problem. Provisioning by the local chap is great, well worth ordering on line before you go as the value is excellent..
Is there anything else you would like to share? The flotilla lead boat was fantastic. Mandou, the flotilla captain, is now an accomplished sailor, and with his local knowledge is a blessing, and what a delight to have a cd of the very professional pictures he took of our holiday. Laura was the the perfect hostess.
Yachts - What was the best thing about your yacht? We had a Sunsail 44i which was fabulous. Loads of room for the 5 of us, but it would have accomodated 8 very comfortably. Fridge wasn't brilliant, but with regular top-ups of ice it managed to keep the beer cool.
Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Sunsail guests visiting this destination?LIAT are probably the world's worst airline. Be prepared for being jumped off your flights and for the non-arrival of most of your luggage, it happens nearly every time. Make sure you can survive for a few days with the contents of your hand luggage. I got my bag 5 days after arrival, by which time we'd got down to Union Island. Only the persistence of the Sunsail Base achieved that, and it was brought by speedboat to Chatham Bay ( with great ceremony). But who needs more than a pair of Speedos and a pair of Flipflops. Cherish the boat boys, they will do anything for you.
Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your holiday and where on your itinerary did they happen?Set your anchor in Tobago Keys and chill out for a couple of days. Take some charcoal and food for the barbeque and plenty of cold beer. Swim with the turtles and the stingrays. It really is the best place in the world.
