Sunsail’s new base at Wickham’s Cay II, Tortola, is the starting point for a two-week British Virgin Islands (BVI) flotilla vacation.
BVI flotilla sailing is ideal for first-timers as well as more experienced sailors and on the a two-week flotilla you will visit all the destinations of the one-week flotilla, as well as the beautiful anchorage at Cane Garden Bay, the awe-inspiring rock formations of The Baths, remote Anegada, home to colonies of flamingos, herons and osprey.
You can also enjoy a Caribbean BBQ with the famous stilt-walking and dancing Moko Jumblies, an example of the influence of West African traditions in the Caribbean.
The two week British Virgin Islands (BVI) flotilla offers views of over 60 islands which make up this beautiful archipelago. With deep water seperating the islands and easy navigation, this area is ideal even for those with limited experience.
Our on-site ASA sailing school is also on hand if you are looking improve your skills before departure. Summer winds are generally lighter and from the south-east with more wind during December and January.
The liveliest sailing is generally around Christmas and the most gentle during the summer months. Winds in the winter are generally north-east trade winds, in summer they come from the south-east. Temperatures average 78 - 86 F (26 - 30 C) year round.
