James Bond Island sits within the protected confines of the stunning Phang-nga Bay and is known locally as Koh Tapu. The Island is a steep rocky monolith, about 65 feet tall. The prominent limestone pinnacle helped give the film its exotic look, and it put this part of Thailand on the international map.
The island is accessible by longtail boat from the anchorage at Koh Yang, with boat tours also including a visit to the cliff-studded island of Koh Panyee, home to a traditional fishing village built on stilts over the shallow water.
