Koh Katen, Koh Samui

The island of Koh Tan, is part of the Katen archipelago and offers a complete escape from the tourist crowds.  This small archipelago is found off the southern coast of Samui and consists of seven individual islands, also known as the “Southern Islands”.  Koh Tan, the largest of the islands, is the only one inhabited with a population of just 70.

There are no roads here, giving the island an extremely quiet and tranquil atmosphere.  Ko Tan offers visitors a real step back in time: on land you’ll find just one small village with one restaurant run by a local fishing family.  The locals are committed to preserving the island’s natural beauty and Ko Tan is a designated green area with all methods of power sourced naturally.  Around the island the beaches are completely undisturbed and unspoiled.

You’ll have  plenty of opportunities to find yourselves surrounded by complete peace and quiet, other than the waves lapping softly against the shore.  Totally rich in nature Ko Tan is perfect for trekking via the paths that cross through its hills and mangrove forests.  The nature is outstanding, with many species of birds and other animals, some of which can only be found within this archipelago.  It is also particularly known for its marine life; surrounded by coral reef and a host of sealife, this is the perfect spot for snorkeling and swimming off of your yacht. This could be your real-life Robinson Crusoe experience.
